Roll of Quarters

I dont know if most of you keep a roll of quarters in youre BOB or not.I dont but do have about 5 bucks worth in a zip lock baggie.What got me thinking about this is that I got a gold sackagawea dollar coin the other day.I was thinking of going to the bank and getting more of them.The think I am wondering is if vending machines still take the dollar coin any more.I know they used to but like the Susan B this new dollar coin was a bit of a flop.

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to keep a few or just stick with quarters.Heck its still coin change so it may not even be an issue that really matters.

Those were the bad ole days. I used a roll of dimes myself. Don't remember if I was cheap or just didn't want to scatter any.:sneaky2:

Oh, that was my misspent youth. I'll probably forget when I need it. Now that I think about it, it was dimes.

Still carry a role of quarters, one in each truck and, yes they can/have been useful.
Mostly for car washes and tolls these days though...........
I wouldn't fool with the dollar coins, any where I might want to use them in the boonies, I drought that a change machine would take them.
Might not even have change machines, or elect. for that matter.

If I had a roll of quarters I'd blow it on the first pinball machine I came across. No vending machines or stores where I'm bugging.
I do keep loose change in the truck, I dunno, maybe a couple bucks and it's got me a drink when hot and thirsty. It's a good idea to have a little on hand but I dunno about in my BOB.. just extra weight.

I keep a couple of rolls of quarters and some small bills in BOB.

The only change I keep in my kit are pre 1964 dimes, quarters, halves, and silver dollars.
I always have change in the car or my pocket for everyday use.

Sarky, I've read about those on JW Rawls' site. Am intrigued, but can't quite figure out how they might come in handy in any scenario short of a total collapse.

Bee - Pre-1964 coins were made of silver. Well, 90% silver anyway. To be used as barter should the SHTF. Like everything else, it could take a truck load to buy a loaf of bread. Hard to eat a Mercury dime. Assuming, of course, TSHTF.

That's just the thing. I'm trying to figure out how a coin would be more valuable as a barter than say a pound of rice, ammo or heirloom seeds.
I just really don't know.

Some machines still take them Most interstate rest area change machines give you the dollar coins if you use a $5 or larger. I also keep $20 in change mostle quarters ans a couple dollars in dimes, in my BOV as well as carry $40-$50 in small bills in a ompartment in my wallet.

I used to keep 1-100 2-50 and 5- 20 dollar bills in the inside band of my hat for emergencies when out in the boonies. Then in 2000 I added a American Express Platinum Card to the band as well. To be used only in Emergencies when I lived in California and hunting and hiking forays went farther afield and into the Sierras. The best thing about the Amex Platinum I could actual pay for an Air Evac with it. Thank God I never had to.

LOL, I still have a bunch of the old silver tipped bullets loaded up in various calibers for that (?)

well of course not. if a werewolf was fighting a zombie then it would be no competition. werewolf wins without getting bit. and if by some weird chance snuck up on a werewolf (never gonna happen) then you could shoot it with any bullet as long as you got it in the head.

You're thinking about a werewolf turning into a zombie.....you have to think about a zombie being turned into a werewolf. At which point, not only do you have to shoot it with a silver bullet, to kill it, you have to shoot it in the head with a silver bullet!:innocent: LOL

no no. a zombies jeans would be dominate and it would have the property of a zombie. a werewolf is born a werewolf. the movies stuff isnt true. its not like zombies. if a were wolf bites you then he will eat you. not let you become a werewolf. since werewolfs are solitary they dont want to create more if they arent children. hence a zombie cannot become a werewolf

and your thinking bout it wrong. you dont expand. you make underground chambers. not only would a werewolf tear through your house but zombies cant bend over to open the latch. its probably a good idea to reinforce the door incase a werewolf wants at you. teenagers think about this alot

thats the point. if its a zombie werewolf then you dont need silver bullets. but if you have werewolf zombies (which dont exist, except in theory) then yes, you need silver bullets. bunker are good to have

oh dear 2 dumb. thats just scary. and the domnate genes would be hard to come by and i dont think he even like the bunker and bullets idea

What if I just bought bunker pants. Would that fix the whole problem?

not really. just make it so you cant run and no bullets
