Have you checked out upsate NY? Try someplace in the Catskills, like around the towns of Hunter and Tannersville.
try doing a search for hunting land?
Do you'all have sales tax thingie in America.......? Why would people pay tax on their gross income, and then pay sales tax on what was allready taxed???
I ask as I thunk N.Y. has a large sales tax. YES( ) or NO ( ) or WHO CARES, IT's ONLY MONEY ( )...........:)
Wizzy, What part of N.Y. are you located, now......?
Okay, get me started...........:sneaky2:
I'm self employed. Adding up Federal & State Income Taxes, FICA & Medicare = 50.6% of gross
Now toss in Massachusetts Mandated health insurance = almost 10% of gross
Next we have Real Estate, Personal Property and Excise Taxes = 5 % of gross
THAT'S 65.6% OF MY GROSS THAT THE GOVERNMENT TAKES OR MANDATES THAT I SPEND.........
Of the 34.4% of income remaining, Mass pays a 6.25% sales tax, and a 85 cent/gallon (FED & STATE COMBINED) tax on gasoline. Then we have taxes on utilities, fuel oil, cable, and telephone, municipal waste collection fees, meals taxes, ........ figure an average of 5% tax on all "purchases and government costs)
Which leaves me with a net of about 30% of my gross.
IS ANYONE ELSE FURIOUS ABOUT THIS? :sneaky2:
NOW is it time to get our pitchforks and torches?????
Nope. That time passed by over 10 years ago. We need to get serious now! :sneaky2:
Just wait - who do you think is gonna' have to pay for the trillions of extra dollars our clowns in Washington, in our local statehouses, and in our local governments are now p!ssing through? Can you say, "ANOTHER $@*&%!% tax increase?"
Read my lips. No.....new.......taxes. Not gonna happen. Not while I'm here.
WOW....Now I know how to WAKE you guys up......
Hope, I'm about to send the government my entire gross income together will my monthly bills. Let them pay my $%&*#$% bills and necessities and just tell me how many more hours I need to work each week (over the 60 I work now) so I can just send them that money too. I'm seething over this.
I try to avoid this subject because whenever I talk about it I'm just ready to explode!
By the way, in my profession, you can't stop working for a client just because he or she decides to stop paying you. The courts rarely allow it. Hell, it would DELAY JUSTICE! As if our legal system has a damn thing to do with justice - IT DOESN'T! Naw, we just gotta' keep working and spending money on our clients' cases for free. We don't need to eat, right?
EDIT: I had to delete some of this post. Trust me, I would have paid dearly if it had fallen into the wrong hands.........
SO.....I know that you are happy for those of us who have "NO" State Income tax, "NO" State or local SALES TAX, And the state gasoline tax (.08 cents) was suspended for two years.
Nope. Just you! :sneaky2:

I thought some places in Alaska do have sales tax. I think Wasilla does. But regardless it is total BS. And the Government wonders why people can't pay their bills.
"Bends over again for Uncle Sam." "More taxes please."
All joking aside, Ken, I feel your pain. We won't get into politics, here, but I scream the same things that you were just screamin'.
I think the only thing that is worse than what's taken from me, is what's done with it!:sneaky2:
Here ya go, Ken....Just for you! LOL:innocent:

Ken for President!!!!
Not meaning to put this thread back on track, but there is land out there and much of it can be had at good prices right now. Many people that had purchased land as an investment are not seeing what they envisioned with the current economy. Many are just dumping their land. Some are "land banking" it. My mom in law has 54 acres that she will sell very cheaply (no, this is not a solicitation). The problem with her land is that the 400 acres adjacent to it (where an easement has been granted) is not going to be developed in the forseeable future. So access is the issue. For some, that sort of thing may be exactly what they are looking for.
whoaa
that is lots of replies thank you people
well i live in brooklyn ny
what about land in alaska??? i always wanted to go there
How much are you looking to spend? I know a fella that will sell you five acres on the side of a mountain. I've seen the pictures - can't beat the view.
lol
gf is model tho heh so no ugly or fat chicks
well i am looking for something cheap
i am only 23 so really cheap
alaska would be good , cause for last couple years i would love to move there in future
it doesnt have to be plain, i want lots of trees
crashdive123 what side of the mountain are you talking about?
The million dollar view I was referring to can probably be had for about $400,000 so it may be out of your price range. Seriously though, there is cheap land out there. It may take some looking to find something that you want, but it's there. You may even start by talking to a realtor just to get an idea of how to find it. It will take effort on your part, but if it's what you want, it will be well worth it.
