I've been fortunate not to have encountered any claymores in my travels.
well that lucky indeed! I wouldnt wish it even on my enemies. but what i mean is close shaves?? have you had any?
Guiding a brown bear hunter on the Alaska Peninsula, we get to camp two days before season opens, so we sleep in, I crawl out of the tent and am closed on by a large Brown Bear, I am still on my hands and knees crawling out of the tent, and he is over me, I am looking up at his "MALE bear thingie, and he is straddling me sniffing my butt, (Normal for animals). He is over me, but not biting me. I speak in a calm voice to the hunter, to slide a rifle out to me, he Say's which rifle do you want, O'any rifle, as there is a big bear on top of me. Shortly the bear walks away. Me unhurt, bear unhurt, put on the coffee, should be a nice day. Any of you archery hunter, see the photo of the brown bear that Chuck Adams harvested a week later, from the same tent, and same camp.....? Lucky, yep........

As to whether or not that was good luck, ask me when it is over.
Yea,I have,long story I believe I posted it on the forum once before,don't wish to do so again.Let's jsut say it's one of those "I shouldn't be alive" stories.
Have had many close calls.........but don't want to brag about them as ya see.......I have these two angels on my shoulders and if I piss them off by bragging, they may leave.
I survived bouncing off a moving car with no more than deep bruising down the left side of my body. The car hit me going around 35 mph. I think my guardian angel needed a stiff drink after that one...
Just the usual stuff but I've been happily married for 35 years, have three healthy kids and four healthy grandkids (and a healthy dog). I think that's pretty lucky.
Had my share of close calls in my 48 years. BUT to answer the question I think I am the luckiest man in the world because on June 17 2000 I met a Beautiful LADY. and on August 3 2006 we were married. Each and every day I get to share with her makes me LUCKY every day.
awww oldsoldier that is sooo sweet! congrats on finding the love of your life, I think that is lucky indeed.
I've rolled a Corvette 4-5 times around a curve in a race with a Mustang, no seat belt, no scratches.
I've also slammed my drag truck up against a wall at a drag strip going 155mph when a tie rod snapped during a race.
But I'll agree with OldSoldier.. I met a girl Oct 14th 2008 and it was the luckiest day of my life.
I tripped in the garden, fell, and when getting up I heard the dreaded, dry rattle of a snake. I almost fell face first into a mean tempered little prairie rattler. I froze, did not even breathe for a seeming 100 years.
With sweat drippping in my eyes, the snake got disgusted and slithered off. I did not pick beans out of that garden for the rest of the summer.
We moved that fall, when the harvest was over. I now live where rattlers do not habitat. Snakes can be everywhere, so I am ever vigilant. I never want to experience that again.
If you are in the Pacific Northwest still, I got news for ya, there are rattlers up here too!

Supposedly......which is a heck of a long word.....there are no rattlers west of the Cascades...up in the northern border area.
Where I met the rattler was north central Idaho. We had both prairie and timber. I'm just SO HAPPY to be FROM there.:)
Ive stepped over 2 Rattlers not wearing my snake boots. They dont hibernate in Florida apparently as long as the suns out. Also shot a 7 year old 7 point buck with a bow out of my kayak, sittin on my butt. Deer didnt have a tooth in his head.
