NEVER, judge a book by it's cover,eh??? What a voice!
Was a good slice of humble pie for the judges and the audience too. I think they realized it also from what they said and the look on their faces.
I saw that the other day and was really awe struck. She has an incredible talent.
We're ALL like that back home.....incredibly talented.
And good looking :)

But yeah, she was pretty danged good. I saw her on the news the other night. I love it when the under dog wins.

This is bizarre! I have listened to these two songs, "I Dreamed a Dream," and "Cry Me a River," multiple times and I don't seem to get tired of them. Usually, once or at the most twice, listening to a song, and I'm done.
This woman is the original ugly duckling. I can't get upset with the audience for thinking it was going to be a flop. Those eyebrows and the red face and double chin. Looks like someone smacked her in the face with an ugly stick and enjoyed it so much - they did it again. Even her voice, when she talks, is a series of squawks and grunts. I'd have an easier time believing this was all a lip syncing hoax than to believe she would produce a beautiful song, but when she opens her mouth, and the music comes forth, she turns into a beautiful swan.
I listened to both the songs - sung by other artists - among them people like Barbara Streisand and Crystal Gayle. Amazingly, their renditions lacked something compared to Susan Boyle's. Her versions seem to have "heart" or "soul" or something which the others don't quite capture. When Crystal Gayle or Barbara Streisand sings, I hear their song and I enjoy it, but when Susan Boyle sings, I feel her feelings. It is truly a gift, and if she puts out a CD, I'll be glad to plunk down my coin.
I just hope the people who are ready to "package" her have the common sense not to try and teach her how to sing. God knows - she can already do that without their help.
Nice to see talent rise above the entertainment industry.
