A simplified discription, would be; Weather HIGHS (good weather ) rotate in a clockwise rotation. Weather LOWS (bad weather ) rotates in a counter clockwise rotation. A storm coming from a SW direction would bring wind direction shifts first comming from the west, shifting Northerly and final shift would have the wind comming from the East, depending on what portion of the storm was passing over you at the time. Also as a storm approaches, cumulous cloud activity would grow thicker and become lower to the ground.
