Has anyone heard from them?
Neither has been on the forum since December.
I have corresponded with Crash once in late Dec. I haven’t heard from him since. I haven’t heard from Rick at all. I sent you a PM. Didn’t know if you had gotten it. It seems there are some issues. I can’t access the site with Chrome or Firefox. DuckDuckGo works fine.
Alan
I hope they are OK and have no medical issues. Can't imagine why they would simply evaporate into the ether so I fear something is keeping them from the computer.
Is anyone else from the normal crew still checking in?
Max, are you out there?
The site is still a no go on Chrome although it seems to work on Firefox. I know it works on DuckDuckGo. Only other posters I’ve seen besides some Spammers are RangerXanatos, DSJohnson, S. Potts and Phaedrus.
Alan
I guess I'm here.
Don’t use a computer anymore but I’ve been able to get on using Tapatalk and safari on the iPhone.
Crash was online on 1-24-24. Still a long time from Rick though.

I hope they're fine. Any news?
Crash is fine. Most survival forums wilderness posts are diminished considerably. Most likely another side effect of the pandemic. The SHTF aspect of survival is still very popular.
We all saw it coming. Wilderness survival forum posts started becoming a "what should I buy" post. They never wanted to hear "well, what are your skills?".
I suspect we have millions of "survivalists" with a closet full of the very best brand new survival gear. The logic that the guy showing his "best survival knife" was showing a brand new one he'd never used seemed lost to everybody.
The dumbing down of western culture continues.
Funny thing. Several years ago, I was getting my wilderness first aid certification. Around the campfire we all were sharing, a guy passed one of his knives around to show others. It was a nice knife. When I got it, I was handling it, felt the edge, the point, etc… the owner looks at me and says, “you know, I have never touched the blade on that knife…”

Wow, did he explain what the hell he meant?
He was saying that he was so careful with the knife he didn’t even want fingerprints on the steel. It was one of those knives he’d never use and put in a safe but yet he brought it out into the woods for 3 days and 2 nights. I’d never be able to own such a knife that I was so afraid to touch.

Wild. I mean, I have a lot of knives, but I don't take safe queens into the woods.
I agree. I own lots of knives from cheap moras to expensive customs. I tend to use my knives, but if I were to keep a safe Queen, I certainly wouldn’t bring it out to the woods for a few days.

If one of these Admins doesn't get these guys, who's the Admin that is supposed to get them banned?
Just logged on to satisfy a whim. Haven't been active since 2018. Sorry to see the forum struggling and that Sarge is gone. May he rest in Peace.
My close friend VnVet is also absent since december. He doesn't reply my emails and doesn't pick up his cellphone.
I was able to track his ID and location back to his town and adress at Georgia, and I also found are very reliable info that he is no longer with us either... For example, his truck was recently sold.
But I do not wish to disturb his wife and (grown up) kids just to confirm my suspicions, first because I do not know them, and second because if he is indeed gone this will be a sore point.
That’s a shame about VnVet. I was thinking he wasn’t too far from me and I probably stomp around in his area.

I've been busy with my new job but I still try to pop in to check up on the place. Things have been slow but it's a great forum, I want to help keep it alive.
Johnson, David S, 444 60 8843 Reporting as ordered, SIR!
well, Actually I was looking to see if ya'll were talking about the Solar Eclipse and saw this thread. I think I have Crash's cell. I will look and see.
Much appreciated to see if everything is alright.

5 or 6 years ago I bought one of Crash's knives and I know I have his contact information somewhere but I have not found it yet. Still looking.
Okay I found his mailing address. i will see if I can track down his email and phone number now. I will also send a post card today to his mailing address.
I hope Crash is well! If he's still making knives and 'Crashcarta' I'd like to buy more of each.
I got a PM from Crash yesterday. He said he was doing fine. He says the forum has not been assessable from his computer, much like all of us have experienced. I tried to return a reply and the forum blocked it, went to white screen and claimed the forum was not assessable.
At least we know he and Rick have not died of heart attack.
Well, that’s good to hear. Seems like things cratered right after our Russian friend was booted…
Alan
I just joined to see who was still active here. Any word from "War Eagle". Tell Crash & Rick I am still alive & pushing 78 y/o.
This forum started having problems about 2 years ago. We were being bombarded by trolls. Then the connection problems started. The only way for me to connect is by phone and it sucks to try to navigate on the small screen.
Hope all are doing well. Glad to see some of the old timers still around.
All very SAD.
Hey dough, good to hear your still on top of the snow.
Hello my friends, Any news?
For the first time in over a year I was able to access the site on a device other than my phone. Hopefully whatever glitch made it that way is fixed for good. I have a lot of catching up to do. Hope all has gone well for everyone these past months.
Made it through the hurricane Halene not too bad. Was out of power for about 36 hours. Some in the county still have no power.
Also a chemical plant has caught on fire near here so there are chlorine clouds through some of the cities and people are complaining of burning throats and eyes.

The site is still a bit flaky on my computer.
I just stopped in to say.......MERRY CHRISTMAS.
