6th Annual WSF Jamboree Pictures
-
I hate these pics cos I am not there..any chance of having a jamboree in Malaysia?
-
-
Such gorgeous photos. Do those who are pictured want to claim themselves so I know who's who?
-
Great pictures as always Crash.
-
Wow, it looks so beautiful. Now I really wish I was there!!!! Saw some familiar faces in there!
-
Well the 4 legged one is Candi.
-
Ok is have the red vest on and look like I am cold because it was.
-
Wow! Wish I was there even for a spell. And I want one of them biscuits right now!
Penciling in the next Jamboree, don't care where it's at.
-
Sooooooo who's the new guy standing there with Lou? :)
Looks a great area to get away from it all.
-
great pics crash but wheres all the people? is it a paranoid ting or what?
-
It was a great place to get away. You almost could not get there from anywhere. The sun took half the morning to get up over the mountain ridge.
-
Looks like a great time to be in the woods!

No paranoia involved, I just prefer taking pictures of the scenery. If you want to meet the people you have to show up.

When do you want to start planning?

She is not kidding!
The hollow we were in was so deep zero dark thirty lasted until 9am and even with clear sky and star cover you could not see your hand against your nose after sundown.
My amazement was that we had such good facilities at a campsite so far back in the woods. It was a really great place.
I am up for a mid-western event next year in addition to the regular jamboree!
I put 800 miles on the vehicle this trip and I know there were others that could not make it due to the distance and/or extended driving times.

Why, right now!
And if we're going somewhere cold, let's maybe make it September?
-
Congrats! It looks like a great time and a great place. Those pics are fabulous.
-
It wasn't that cold. We hit a low right around 30 one night, but the day time temps were in the 60's and 70's. I've always pushed for the mid to end of October and mountains for the fall colors (sorely lacking in my area). To me there is something magical about camping with the color changes.
-
There were chilly moments but the weather overall was perfect.
-
Beautiful photos, I wanna try to attend the next one.
That is if you guys don't mind a relative newbie...
-
Ah, but you won't be a newbie by next October!
-
Now I'm really sorry we had to back out.........so is Bella.(dog).
Gorgeous pic's as usual...so good I didn't take many last year myself....but depended on yours....LO
Hopefully this will be a little more settled next year...truck and trailer still packed for this years trip we didn't take.
Thanks for these Crash you always go just a little further to get the shot.......and there that means a lot of up and down hill hiking.
-
I also consider taking photos a waste of time with Crash on the job.
He has a better camera and an eye for better composition than I do by a wide margin.

That's a big "No ship".....LOL

Thanks for the kind words. The last three pictures are actually under water. I was lying on a big rock, with my arms in the stream. Wanted to try out the little camera I picked up for canoeing and snorkeling.
-
Do you guys realize that this weekend they will have 6"-12" of snow right where we camped last weekend?

Yes I do, been watching the weather.....Jim Cantore was in Chicago...where he goes ...you are screwed.
We had some snow this morning....started on the truck hood for quite a while.
-
That would be an exciting drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway with a very, very heavy 2WD truck and plain ole street tires.
-
Could be a very large bobsled if you got to the top of the !mountain. Might not have time to take pictures on the way down.

I didn't realize that, the water is so incredibly clear. It would be tempting to drink right from it which I know would be a huge mistake.
