Lost the majority of my firearms. I decided I didn't want to make the same mistake I did before, and buy a bunch of guns that work eh, ok, with a little ammo for each. I wanted to buy "the" one combat rifle, and become proficient with it. The same with the handgun. Instead of a buying a few cool toys, spend the money on ammo for the main weapon. After much research I decided on a SCAR 17s and a Glock 23.
I decided on the G23 gen 4 because I wanted versatility and reliability. In seconds I can swap from .40, to 9mm. I can even use the same magazines at the price of some reliability. If I so choose I can also buy barrels to swap out for .357, and .22, although the .22 requires a new spring. So far I love it. It eats what I tell it to eat. And it's just the in between size to concealed carry, but not be a tiny little thing I can't hit the broad side of a barn with.
I decided on the SCAR 17s because I am not a fan of the stopping power of 5.56. I wanted something to ensure my target is going down, as well as being able to use it to hunt with. Once again, one rifle, to do as much as possible, rather than a bunch each with it's own task. It combines an adjustable stock, as well as the option of folding. The recoil is incredible. One of the reasons I was drawn to it. Some fancy muzzle break FNH designed. It feels like i'm shooting a caliber slightly less than a 5.56. Shooting one handed is not an issue in the least bit. I can see why this has been phased in to some special military units, especially when it fires burst/FA. It breaks down just as easy, if not easier than an AR/M4. Although I haven't put a large amount of rounds through it, it also eats what I tell it to. Seen people shoot thousands of rounds without malfunctions. So much they have to buy snap caps to simulate malfunctions for practice. It has an effective range of fire to 700M on a point target. Chews through cinder blocks and gets into those harder to reach places 5.56 simply wont go.

The start of the ammo supply. So far at over 1,300 rounds of 7.62, 500 rounds of .40, and 500 rounds of 9mm. Not sure on .22, maybe 500-1000

If I lived in a free state I would add a Ps90 SBR and FiveseveN combo. I still may end up getting a CA compliant 5-7 down the line when the timing and money is right. Can't beat the stopping power of a rifle cartridge for an EDC CCW weapon.
