I like that it can charge 4 AA or 4 AAA batterys

Solar panels on backpacks......it really depends on what your goals are..what are you doing? Are you backpacking and just spending time in the outdoors, and want to charge your stuff? Do you plan on supper long term trips? Is this something for maybe a BOB where you plan to be gone for a long time? The reason to ask these questions is because you are comparing them to just having replacement batteries. Back in the day (like when Rick was turning 60), no one had LED flashlights. Everyone had to carry extra batteries just for their flashlights. Now, I put 3 AAA alkaline batteries in my LED headlamp, and it lasts more than a week on the trail, using it a lot. If I switched to a headlamp that was less than 100 lumins, then they would last even longer. If I switched to lithium primary batteries, then I would get an even longer usage. It is hard to justify even carrying spare batteries for my headlamp now....but I still do carry 3 extra AAAs. There are also charging units that you can put AA or AAA batteries into and have them charge your cell phone. I have even seen fuel cell options.
So really, what you are doing is comparing how heavy a solar panel is compared to a couple extra batteries, plus ease of use, and how much charge will you get out of a solar panel on a backpack. If you hike in the desert, you will probably do okay. But if you hike under tree cover, you might not get much charge. That means you have to stop and wait while you charge your stuff.
Personally, I probably won't use a solar charger camping any time soon. It doesn't work for my style. It is also more expensive than any other option that does fit my style. I use a garmin etrex 10 for gps, an LED headlamp for light, and don't use my cell phone on the trail. I hike to get away from cell phones. An extra cell phone battery is also pretty cheap compared to a good solar system.
That doesn't mean that a good solar system is bad for you. It might be perfect for your needs. Just make sure and do the comparisons.

I've converted my AA and AAA rechargeable batteries to these and they last a lot longer. Both on the charge and over their lifetime.

It keeps my cell phone charged for an amazingly long time and it holds its charge an amazingly long time. I haven't charged mine if a couple of months and its still fully charged. It also has a built in LED light.
eneloops are definitely top of the line.
Does anybody own the bear grylls solarwrap mini? It's really portable and fits on backpacks but I'm not sure how good the quality is.

Aha, ik what you mean, I don't like when products have to use a celebrity to promoto it. It must mean it's not that good.
Not necessarily. Gerber has made some fine stuff. I would rather not pay the additional mark up just because it has the name of a TV personality on it. Overall though, in the case of BG products - I have not been impressed.
