It's Not Brain Surgery
Actually, it is.
Last week, I had a close friend undergo 6 hours of brain surgery to have a tumor removed that had surrounded her optic nerve. She's recovering quite well and is in therapy now.
Today, my sister-in-law underwent a 9 hour operation to remove a large tumor around her brain stem. She's still in the recovery room.
Medical science is amazing.

Prayers sent for quick recovery.

Scary and amazing. Hope they both bounce back and stay well.
And may I say, I don't begrudge what brain surgeons make, not one bit. They deserve it.

prayers sent their way Ken!!!

Today's update....
My friend starts her first full day of therapy today. She has occasional episodes of double or triple vision which is expected to clear up in two or three weeks. Her spirits are great. Her neurosurgeon told her that the damn thing, which was not malignant, had probably been growing inside her skull for as long as 20 years. Incredible.
My sister-in-law will probably be moved out of the ICU today. She'll have an MRI today to determine if there's any residual tumor left. The surgeon removed everything he could see. Fingers crossed.
They both have great neurosurgeons. My sister-in-law is at Bethesda, and my friend has one of the best in Boston.

That's amazing......
