favorite flashlights.

LED flashlights rule!. I've got a couple good flashlights that are led's and I use them almost daily. I never realized how much brighter and cleaner the light is until I bought some new batteries for my older mini maglite. My maglite was my go to flashlight for years until I got into led lights, and when I used my old mag the other day I couldn't believe how weak that thing was, new energizers be dammed this thing is lame.
My fav light is a led lenser 4 cell light. I think an hp7 or lp7 or something. What is your favorite light???

I recently switched all my mag lights over to led! my batteries last a lot longer and it is a brighter crisper light.
I bought a flashlight off ebay a while ago, its a cree light? I will need to do a little review with pictures soon.

The Smith & Wesson Galaxy 9 is my current favorite. It's crazy bright, aircraft aluminum, tactical button in the end and comes in at less than $16. Crash posted on one a while back he got and Home Depot.

I've looked at that a time or two. How do you feel about it now that you've had it awhile? I think Home Depot has discontinued them.

There on clearance for 9.00 I may have to grab one. One can never have too many flashlights, ever!!!!!!

I like them. They are great for the inspections I do (termite) and really do out perform the $120 lights I was using.

led lights do rule but my current favorite is the pelican stealthlight. xenon if i remember correctly, it's taken 3 years of abuse. best light i've ever had and it converted me from a brinkmann fan.

A CREE LED is a type of LED bulb. I haven't research it too much to know exactly what the difference is between a CREE LED bulb and a standard one. I do know that a standard one takes 3V to operate and generally only gets up to around 10 lumens. A CREE can go far beyond that low lumen number. My current favorite is the new Rayovac indestructible line of flashlights. I have bought two of the small handheld ones. And, last I saw, they have a new headlamp version.

Its exciting when you find a product that preforms beyond expectation and far beyond similar products.
I use mine for camping, fishing, hunting, metal detecting and anytime I need to be hands free but need light and sometimes lots of it.
At the super setting its like having a car headlight mounted to your head. I hardly ever use it on that setting but it's there if you need it.
There are two different versions one that has whats called a cool white LED that has a blue white tint to the light emission Cree CW XM-L T6
and then one with a pure natural white emission with slightly less power and a CW XM-L T5 4A LED.
These lights run on a single rechargeable and very affordable Lithium Ion 18650 cell. They are water proof and made of machined alloy aluminum.
If you wanted a high performance head lamp these are great choices in my opinion.

I really like Cree LED lights. The only problem I have with them is the effect it has on an animals tapetum lucidum. Even at low settings the eye shine is amazing. Unfortunately they’ll be popular with people that jack deer.

I use Maglite and I always have a Mini Maglite (2 AAA cells) in my shirt pocket. Switch over to LED? Can one replace the bulb? :confused1: :confused1:

My single favorite light is my Surefire E1B Backup. I love it so much that I have two of them. It was about $139 though, not cheap. For cheaper lights I'm very fond of the Streamlight Microstream (have two of them, too). It's a single AAA light with about 80 lumen output give or take. IIRC it's about $16. The JETBeam BC10 is a very nice light, too. Single CR123A and about the size of the E1B but a bit brighter. It's around $28.

For weapon lights I really love the Inforce APL. Very nice light!

I have quite a few led lights. Started with a Duracell Dayliter, incredible light! My first higher power led light. I have three of them, 2 AA and 1 that uses CR123A batts. Also have some Rayovac lights that take 3 AAA batts. Very bright and dependable as well. I have an Inova that rides in my pocket, a single AA powered one. Just picked up a 300 lumen single AA powered pocket light. It is very bright, but mostly a floodlight beam. I also just ordered a couple of 500 lumen head lights. One that uses AA batts and one that has a built in batt. I changed out the bulb in my double DD Maglite with an led bulb and it is awesome! That is the light I keep by the door in case we have an outdoor emergency, coons, bear, coyotes in the yard bothering the animals, etc. I have a Duracell headlamp, a nice RayoVac headlamp, but have to say that the Energizer headlamps that I get from Wally seem to be about the best value of all. I also have a Coleman headlamp, the Max, and it is awesome. Switch could be better though, but the blue light is great in the winter.

Nobody even considers the old angle head Military flashlight that can send Morse code any more. ...--...--?

You can get retrofit kits to convert from bulb to led for the mag lights but its almost the cost of a new LED 2 AA version mag light.
The conversion kits are on Amazon and eBay.

My latest light is an LED and it as said before a great light.
Also use head band LED's ease of use is very helpful.

Funny you mentioned this. I just put an led bulb in one of these last night. Not good results though. Turned out to be a VERY wide angle light. I do use the light quite often though with the standard bulb.

Just picked up a new Energizer high brightness head lamp. Works very nice. Throws a good beam. It's a 100 lumen light.

Streamlight MicroStream

I have an Inova T2 and T3 as well as a 24-7 head lamp. They all take Cr123 batteries. The T2 puts out 120 lumens and the T3 puts out 180 lumens.
