Bad beaver is the cause of sooo many problems in this country. So many young men's lives have been ruined by bad beaver....:w00t:

Beavers can get you killed, especially if they are married beavers.
I pulled a beaver in a conibear from the crick the other day. It was a male and apparently had a territorial dispute earlier in the year. Ther was a big chunk bitten from the tail. Male beavers tend to grab tails when fighting. I noticed upstream the beaver sign is getting pretty thick, overpopulated. Next season I'm going to mosey up there and thin them out a bit.

joking aside, actually beaver tail is a acquired taste. It is best blistered over a fire until the hide comes off then cut in chunks and then boiled. It is rich, lots of fat.

Seriously!!!, I have a great recipe for cooking beaver. One of the best game dishes I have ever made. If some of you seriously want the recipe, I will post it.
That be cool. I know u have to avoid their oil glands but have no idea how'd I go about prep... maybe buttermilk soak to get out gameness.
Sour Cream & Herbed Beaver
2 to 3 # beaver cut into serving size pieces 3 Tablespoon olive oil
3 Tablespoons butter 4 medium onions, sliced
2 cup beef bullion 1 Tablespoon flour
2 teaspoon tomato paste 1/2 cup sour cream
2 Tablespoon water 1 Tablespoon chopped parsley
2 Tablespoon chopped dill
Soak meat in salt water for 1 to 2 hours. Dry and rub with salt, pepper and flour. Brown in olive oil in a heavy Dutch Oven. Remove meat and set aside. Saute onion in pan drippings. Return meat to pan, add beef bullion and cook for five min over high heat. Reduce heat, stir in tomato paste. Cover tightly and simmer one hour. Remove meat to a serving bowl. Blend flour and water, stir into pan liquids and cook until thickened. Before serving, stir in sour cream but DO NOT BOIL! Pour over meat and sprinkle with herb mixture. Serve over noodles or rice. (Equally good with rabbit)

Beaver also has a nice backstrap along the spine, similar to large game backstraps.
