Bad news
Well I'm finally getting nerve enough to post this. Received the results of my lung biospy last Tuesday. I have a mass in my upper right lung. They tell me that it's the best kind of cancer to get lol. It's called the small cell cancer, the lesser of the four kinds. I'm to have a PET scan Monday and a brain MRI to make sure it hasn't spread, which my MD says he doesn't feel it has. Than an appointment with the surgeon Thursday. So I will be going under the knife sometime in the next week or so. They are planning to remove the top lob of my lung.
The bad part is that I will miss the get together which I was really looking forward too. I have really been looking to meeting all you characters. O well if I'm still alive there's always next year. The best thing of all this, I've finally kicked the smoking habit after some 58 years.

Will,
The good news is the chance of that small cell carcinoma spreading is about the same as getting hit by lightning.
The bad news is that they are going to have to crack your chest, which you will feel 5 years later.
I'm going to pray for the Mrs...
God speed...

Im sorry to hear about that. Im sure with time things will work out well!
Not to detract from the situation, but do you have any idea what may have been the cause??
