I've been looking for a holster purse...and I can only find big bulky "grandma" ones. Anyone have any idea if they make "trendier" ones...or am I just wasting my time looking?

T, I love the way Maxpedition Versipacks look in general and am thinking of getting one. The added bonus is that they do have a CCW pouch which I'll use for something else.

Yeah, I was drawn to that one too, because you can adjust the strap so it sits tighter under the arm. I don't like cross bodies THAT much, just because I'm just not used to them. I wear mine high under the pit most of the time. Guess I feel safer like thatQuote:

T - I'm tickled that you carry. Smart move on your part. On the purse, just remember that if someone grabs your purse they grab your weapon, too. Having said that, I'd much rather see a woman carry in her purse than NOT carry.
Personally, if I carried, I'd prefer it to be on my body.
I hear ya Rick...most of the time I carry ON me...but I'm moving to a revolver, and it's just to bulky to carry on me all year round. I can get a way with it in winter and fall, but spring and summer, without a jacket...I'm going to have to find another way.
I have a holster that fits over my waist band, but what if I wear a skirt or a dress? I don't want to leave my gun behind. ;)
That too is why I like the idea of a smaller bag that fits snugly under my arm pit. It's much easier to keep it safer and much harder to grab in a run-by. Getting an actually holster purse is awesome because it allows for easier access while not having to removed your bag from your shoulder...plus some of the better models offer a lock on the gun pocket for when I get home and it's on the counter. ;)
You could carry it in a little pack....Like Rick, in this picture. LOL:whistling:

This is what I settled on! It's a BIT bigger than I wanted it to be, but will work very well. Plus I like the look of it, so I can bring it to almost any function without worry. Finally, I found a dude that sold it MUCH cheaper than it's average cost!! WOOO ME!!!

All the ladies I have taught I discouraged off body carry. The last and toughest to convince was a parole officer. At 5'4" and 120lbs we found a holster by going to a gun store and trying several. She carries a Glock 40cal and at her desk, driving or wherever she may need to go. The handgun and cal is mandated by the state and she has to go for training every year at the state police academy. It was a jab. LOL! I bought one the "polymer frame" cracked after 21 rounds. Mailed it back, was sent a second...and that one CAME cracked. Was supposed to get a revolver sent last week, but the mistakenly sent me ANOTHER slim and IT looked like the locking pin had been pried out and was cracked and scratched. I get it. I really, really do. You're preachin' to the choir, regarding conceal carry. Unfortunately the laws in my state clearly say that if I'm carry my weapon with a conceal carry permit and someone notices it, I can be charged with "brandishing my fire arm" and lose my permit. If I carry it openly, and someone sees it, no one can accuse me of brandishing my fire arm unless I remove it from my holster, but open carry comes with a whole new list of problems.
I simply do not have the body mass to wear it on my person all year. I want the OPTION of bringing my firearm with me if I'm wearing something that does not allow for me to wear it. Believe me...I have more holsters than the average bear. LOL!
I got my bride a kind of T-shirt concealed carry job. She likes it and covers it with a loose fitting sweatshirt for access. OK, no photos wise guys.

I think that in warm weather I would consider a belly band holster with an untucked blouse. You could even rig an Ace bandage around your middle under some loose fitting clothes.
Makes me glad I have hit the point in time where I realize I don't look good, nothing I hang on me is going to help, and don't expect it too.
Now my biggist worry is remembering which pocket in the cargo pants I put the pistol in. I have to check at least three before I find it most of the time.
Remember though...it's a revolver. Just won't lay flat.
I think that compression shirt could come in handy though! With a light jacket or a short sleeved sweater I could get way with more.
The real pity is that a classy lady can not have an equally classy pistol with total reliability and safty, that will disappear beneath sweater or shirt.

I hear ya! That's why I picked out the 709 slim to begin with. Sadly it turned out to be a piece of poop that ran too much of a chance falling apart when I needed it.
