The thing that one NEEDS to consider and be very careful with is that some liquids/chemicals that will burn put out toxic fumes that can seriously damage your lungs and nervous system and its NO JOKE. As an example, it has been said that you can use Jet fuel in place of kerosene in stoves/heaters. Where I live, they add deicing chemicals to the Jet fuel that are noxious to humans when burned. Personally, I would absolutely NOT be experimenting with flammables without first finding out if they are unhealthy. Also, in certain types of stoves/appliances using the wrong fuel can cause serious flare ups, cause fires, and I would expect even overhead and blow up. Certainly not trying to preach, and I imagine you have already considered all this, but thought worth saying in case someone reading this thread doesn't.
