I just thought I'd offer up another option for acquiring seeds for food should you need to. Bird seed. That might sound crazy but bird seed contains thistle seed, sunflower seed and corn (depending on the type of bird seed). Most of that seed is perfectly viable. I know because I feed birds and have a host of plants that volunteer from the dropped seed.
Corn can be cracked or whole. If it's cracked then you could use it to make flour. If it's whole then you can plant it and grind it. The ground squirrels are forever planting corn in my garden and it sprouts everywhere. There must be something in the ground squirrel spit. :sneaky2:
Anyway, put bird seed on your list. For TEOTWAWKI crowd and the economy is going to the dumpster group then look for bird seed when the stores have all been ransacked and you'll have your garden seed and, maybe, some corn to grind.
