How many of you watch the shows on the Discovery Channel? I remember back when about all they had were natives making spears and lions eating zebras. Now, with Deadliest Catch (on as I speak), Survivorman, Man vs. Wild, Dirty Jobs, Alaska Experiment, etc. I find myself watching it quite often as a favorite channel. The Learning Channel has a few good ones too. I like Little People Big World, etc. Ironically, even though I'm in law enforcement, I can't stand the crime scene shows.
I very seldom watch the Discovery Channel anymore other than the "Dirty Jobs" program. Fact is I watch very little television anymore. Most of it is just cr@p.
History Channel is my favorite, but other than that, unless it's older movies I'm burned out on the usual crime, lawyer, medical stuff.
I hear that Tahyo. They have seriously overused the crime and medical junk. We need more sitcoms like the old black and white ones. I love those. Dirty Jobs is my fave on Discovery.
The Discovery channel is one of my faves, I think all their programs are high quality and well thought out :)

I've found as a BSA Scoutmaster that many of those shows have regenerated an interest in the outdoors for the youth of America. I feel it has helped to motivate them to get out in the real world, not the virtual world.

I watched It Takes a Thief throughout its first season. I liked it. I lost that time of day to watch it, but about four days ago maybe I got to see it. They broke into a cop's house.Quote:

I watched one where he stole the guy's Corvette and his dog. The dog was a cool touch.
I guess he does the dog thing a lot. He took the family pooch with the motor home, fur coat, jewelry, money, .......
You really have to watch the police station episode,if you get a chance,the police chief,was VERY upset,( and he knew before hand that they would try) that they were actually able to break into the station,they did catch him down the block from the station,but he got in there,and made off with stuff,with an officer on duty.
I'll keep an eye out for it.
I've learned some stuff from that show. I had one of those routered name tags on the house and took it down after watching the first episode. It was one of those head slap moments. Duh! The centralized car keys holder is gone, too.
Don't know if it was ever on the show, but here's a common head slapper that you can find in any neighbor hood. Tall thick bushes in front of windows - perfect cover for hiding while breaking in.
Or a ladder laying beside the two story house.
The show is full of good insight. It's fun AND educational. I've seen him steal dogs too. Amazing how people always think their dog will protect them, yet they do nothing but lick Jon when he breaks in. I'll keep my eye out for the police station episode.
