SG run. Holsters, ammo, gun parts!!!

I got one of those drop leg holsters like the swat teams use for the next time the FART unit is called out. The entire FART unit needs these things because they allow you to carry the gun down below the belly bulge so it does not get lost under the spare tire.

Took me an hour to figure out how to put it on and the rest of the afternoon to get it back off.

I never saw so much Velcro on a holster in my life! I got one tab tangled up with the velcro on my shoe and could not stand up straight for a while. It was on an elastic strap and when it turned lose it nearly did me a mischief.

There is one of those around here some where.....fits a long neck beer bottle pretty well....but yeah a lot of "adjustments'

Still making up my mind on a suitable holster for a 1911......They all look so,... New?

I'm going for a shoulder rig for the 1911. I can't even keep my pants up with my wallet in them. I used to have a butt shelf. It flipped over and migrated to the front.

I want a drop holster. But I can't decide on which shoulder holster. 1st things first.

I got one of those steel reinforced carry belts (actually two of them). It has a piece of stainless in side it to make concealed/open carry easier. I wear it all the time because it does not conform to my figure. It just wraps around. All my other belts get that half moon look after a couple of months. It makes carrying in a regular holster much more comfortable and it has cut my pulling my pants back up time in half. I like to carry cross draw but it requires taking a deep breath to get hold of the pistol.

I got one of those stupid drop leg holsters with the velcro. Got the blame thing hooked to my suspenders and looked like a one legged Russian soldier for about 10 minutes. Unhooked the wrong velcro and the holster came flying off like it was launched from a North Korean missile factory. Fortunately, it flew about as far. I'm toying with the idea of a cross draw chest holster. It would actually be a cross draw belt holster just worn a lot higher. I don't have any fear of it falling down. At least I can actually see it. It could double as a chin rest for naps.

I've never tried a drop leg holster. I need one that works well while sitting. My motto for a long time has been "Why run when I can walk, why stand when I can sit".

Just remember that the drop leg goes on the outside. If you put it on the inside you'll probably remember when you sit down. Just sayin'...

Too much showing doesn't really "print"....looks more like a grotesques growth under the shirt.

During all the messing around with the velcro, snaps and straps I did discover that this holster can be stripped of the complications and used as a regular belt holster that is adjustable enough to fit every one of my large frame service pistols, even the ones with the little lights and lasers mounted on the rails under the slide.

You got to love anything made by a guy named Cactus Jack!

Besides, it only cost $10 and change. I can't go to a movie that cheap and this kept me busy far longer.

I think I have tried holsters that were positioned in every place around the perimeter pf the belt line and I have eventually returned to the standard 4 o'clock forward rake holster and position used by the FBI for so many decades. It is the most comfortable and accessible position for my CCW style and weapons.

I like cross draw better but I can not conceal the firearm when it is sitting in forward crossdraw position I favor. I have a real nice cross draw holster for my SSA but I do not carry that one concealed and it draws way too much attention when open carried.

If I did that I am certain I would wind up with a lost holster.

Hmm, reading all this makes me think I should start making old school Hollywood leather western tie down rigs for modern autos. One buckle, one tie down thong and 0 Velcro :)

You have to be specific and careful with both those remarks around here; "tie down rig" and the word "thong" in any shape or form.
