What did you originally buy it for?
i was making blowgun darts. as if that really matters. what should i do with it? a spear? a cool trap? anything is a good suggestion.
Make extra darts in case you lose some, but if it really doesn't matter, I'll go with that.
ok cashis. i have lots of extra dowel. what should i do with it???? in survival terms. like a spear or something.
You could always return it for a refund. I can't think of anything you could use for something with that small of a diameter. What lengths did you purchase?
Probably good adivce to return them. or... chopsticks, darts, stakes for your garden, kindling, plachinko board, pick-up stix, joiners for the next shelf you build, pencils, a perch on the front of a birdhouse. There are a bunch of uses for 1/4" dowels, however, I don't believe I'd rely on something that thin for a survival situation.
If it's pine dowel, you really can't make a trellis out of it for the garden. If it's hardwood, you might, if you finish it. I made a trellis out of left over bamboo stakes, they were about 5 foot high each.
Build a scale model of that log cabin you've always been wanting. Make 'Firesticks' for kindling. They could be the supports for a figure 4 trap(s) if the cuts are fine enough. Depending on how long they are, they could be supports and (flag) bite indicator for an ice fishing line. You could build them into a scale model boat (raft) with fishing line and hooks hanging from beneath to sail it out into a lake for deep water fishing.Quote:

I observe a lot of things from the ridge ya know.. :rolleyes: Hmmm, let's see, between the logs for the chinking I would use that woodstick filler (in crayon form) that you can get at your home depot or Lowe's. Brown in color for dirt or grey to simulate mortar. How's that for ya? :DQuote:
