I am looking for a compact waterproof survival Bivy that is not Hi-Vis for my Go-Bag. As a shelter in case it is needed and would possibly be in sub zero temperatures. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Here's a little info on bivys - don't know about the "survival" part - I'll leave that up to you. Why the color choice?

well mainly I want to option to be unseen if I gotta get out of town, I have a 48 hour pack and that will get me out of town and to my mothers in the country where there is a genny and some luxuries others may not have if the SHTF. I would like to control if I am to be seen or not and not be in a bright orange bag while I am sleeping.

After last weekends survival campout I'm in the market for a bivy myself..
Thanks I will look that up, I had looked at surplus US Bivies that are a part of the MSS but they weigh over 3 lbs and are a bit bulky for what I am looking for. That being said I don't know if that may be a burden I will have to settle with if it is the best option.Quote:

It is snow camo :) And, since I only use a bivy in the winter, it is the color I want.
Anyways, this guy will also sell you just the material. I am thinking of buying the top material and making a similar one without having to spend $160 for him to make me one.

I have the Eureka Solitaire and I swear I have yet to field test it. This year...maybe, if the planets line up. You can enter through the end or the top with the rain fly removed. But getting in through the top is a pain.
