My new phone

I had a crappy blackberry and i was due for an upgrade so I got a Iphone, been playing with it all evening, and found a bunch of free apps you can install on the phone.
Att made me a super deal on the upgrade total cost was 0.00 , plus 6 months free GPS, and a mail in offer for a free screen protetor. but the ban news is my bill goes up 30 bucks a month, but since the ex's phone is off my bill now I actually am saving 36.00 dollars a month from what the bill used to be.

Now I can post messages and pictures while im at work LOL.

I replaced my cell phone a while back and I said I wanted one that was simple so I could dial a number without all the complication. I don't want to play games, listen to wierd ring tones or have it vibrate in my pocket, I just wanted something to make phone calls on, period. I was told they don't make them like that any more.

Ditto! My mobile phone does what it says on the tin. It's mobile and it's a phone. Although Winnie jnr might disagree with the mobile bit as I often forget to take it with me:blushing: I'm not looking forward to the day it dies.

Don't feel too bad Welder, I got my Iphone last month. You'll be surprised how quickly you become attached. My last phone would go dead from neglect, this thing is beside me everywhere.

All I want is a phone that is LOUD. If it's LOUD I don't care about anything else. But you can....don't care. And it does....don't care. Well how 'bout...don't care. LOUD, just LOUD.

I have had several Touch screen smart phones. But, the iPhone is the only one I can type on worth a damn. Just more responsive and comfotable to use.

I have an Iphone as well and really, as a phone it is awesome. As a pocket computer, it's even better. I can access my servers through secure shell, Etc.

The two bad things about them are the battery life, which is dismal, and they are fragile. A lot of my friends got the "Cracked Screen App"...

I made a conscious choice not to have that happen and got an Otterbox case:

So far the has been dropped 12 feet onto concrete and into snow and into a meltwater puddle without issues...

I learned today just how short of a battery life it really has. Im loving the ipod feature a lot, and the turn by turn GPS is awsome. now if I can find an app that has my coffee ready in the morning Im all set.
Im Impressed by the ring volume seems to be the loudest one Ive owned so far.

Got no use for a tracking device, I have no control over whom is tracking

I recently found out even if you turn off the locater in your phone its still trackable. it wont give a pin point location but will still give a proximity location.

I went to wally world to see if they had the otter box, well they do but only in PINK, and I was informed they are being deleted from the system. so Ill have to order it online.

I bought the Otterbox Defender and stopped using it after a couple of weeks. I keep the phone in the lower right cargo pocket with my wallet. On rare days where I can't wear cargo pants I keep it in my right front pocket by its self. That leaves no keys or anything to scratch it up.

I do know people who have dropped their iPhones and cracked the screen. But, I work at considerable heights and the Otterbox holder seemed to drop the Otterbox all the time.

My helper bought it from me and he hasn't had a problem with it. So maybe it was me.

Only way to get past that, is to not have a cell phone period. They may not be able to figure out your Exact location, but close enough anyway. All they have to do is Triangulate from the towers.

I broke the belt thingee right off the holster the 2nd day I had it. I stood up at work and it caught on the arm of my chair... Tossed that thing right in the trash. I just usually stick the phone in my back pocket.

In one post you tell us how you got the Otter Box and told us how it protects your phone, but in another post you tell us you tossed it in the trash two days after you bought it?

So - is it something you recommend or not? Or only for a couple of days?
