Customer service kudos
I recently sent my 10 plus year old Zippo pipe lighter to be repaired. It was completely beat up, hinge loose, striker surface was smooth and parts of mechanism worn out.
They returned my "baby" to me today, new hinge, and it had a BRAND NEW lighter insert(not rebuilt)!!!! They did not fix the dents and dings, or worn finish of the case (that is fine with me). It only cost me about $4 to mail to them, and they paid the return shipping.
I wanted to give them kudos, this is what customer service should be!! The picture is not of mine, but a new version of it.

It costs a company so little to do the right thing.
-
Nice to see that some companies recognize the value of good customer service.

Something this simple ensures brand loyalty. I would think if a company As Zippo did and does)makes a good product the good will is better than any advertising. Think about the last time you saw Zippo advertising? It has been a long time for me

That's very good to know. There are plenty of lifetime warranties that are not so good..thanks for sharing!

Real good to know, my father used to send his in once in a while, for a re-fresh.
Glad to hear they are still in business.
I carry one.
-
I don't carry one any more, but I've got about a dozen or more tucked in a box some place from the various military commands I've been attached to.

Crash, you may want to google their website, there are some interesting links about history and collecting. If nothing else is fun to look at
