Sharp cheddar grilled cheese, sauteed swiss chard, with lots of bacon and onions, and a little cayenne and apple cider vinegar. Ice cold beer to go with.
It's good to see you back, GS. I think the guys missed your food pron too! Have you moved yet?
Ha! Thanks Winnie! Close of escrow is on the 22nd, but we're going on vacation right after that. So moving will be a slow process, throughout May and June. Yay! Just in time for Summer. :(
Today ,,, and for the first time I bought some Applewood smoked Bacon from the meat counter,,, I trust its good, after all its BACON ! I am thinking about grilling some to go with the burgers planned for today :) I do not have a griddle so I will just pan fry it on the grill side burner ,,,
I bought some applewood smoked bacon a couple of months back. I was actually disappointed. Well, as much as you CAN be disappointed with bacon. It just didn't have much flavor other than bacon. I mean the pinnacle flavor of bacon is...well....bacon.
I didnt cook it today,,,,, but here are the burgers ! I LOVE SUMMER !

Just because I'm about the nicest guy in the whole wide world AND everyone's bestest buddy I'm going to share THE most fantastic hamburger recipe this side of heaven. Enjoy.
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound lean ground beef
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
˝ tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon olive oil
seasoned salt to taste
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat a grill for high heat.
2. In a medium bowl, lightly mix together the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke and garlic powder. Form into 3 patties, handling the meat minimally. Brush both sides of each patty with some oil, and season with seasoned salt.
3. Place the patties on the grill grate, and cook for about 5 minutes per side, until well done.
I'm not sayin' that it's windy here today....but it kept blowing out the flame, on my gas grill.....with the lid down!
Today I also made a healthy(er) snack. Pineapple.
(I wrapped it in bacon, brushed it with raspberry chipotle BBQ sauce, and cooked/smoked it on the grill, but it was healthier than doing that to a meatball......right?)
Mmmmm.....dead chicken!
I'm with Crash. I've tried to make all sorts of concoctions but Sweet Baby Ray's is about the best sauce going. I do make a pretty good vinegar base but can't touch Sweet Baby Rays for a sauce.
That stuff i used today wasn't very good..... gonna try sweet baby rays next time :)
Or you can marinate the chicken in Italian dressing overnight. Pork chops would pretty good that way, too.
Grilled some chicken for dinner.

Supposedly, they were ribeyes. But either they were mislabeled, or they came from Methuselah Cow, cuz they were hella tough.
I've never tried asparagus on the grill. Looks great!
Shrimp cobb salad for lunch.

It's kind of chili outside today so for supper i'm making......yup you guessed it Chili. I'm cooking it in my old black pot hanging over the fire. I can't wait for supper.
Yellow Morel mushrooms sauted in butter, garnishing a T-bone,medium rare off the grill !
Yes, thank you, that's sounds just great. What time is dinner?

Crash, where is the bacon?!?!
I've been on this horrible, restrictive diet for about two weeks. Though I was losing weight rapidly, I decided it sucked too bad to continue. So, I was finally able to cook something good last night!

Sauteed chicken breast with creamy chive sauce:
http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/sa...ive_sauce.html
I used green onions instead of chives.
You can also see that one of the artichokes I grew met its demise.
I boiled it, and when it was done, removed it from the pot and used the water to cook the angel hair pasta.
Thank the lord, i thought u had gotten sick.. veggies and no bacon..!!
The London Broil has to count for something.
Thats true.. London Broil wrapped in bacon strips.. mmmmh
The dust is finally settling, the kitchen is no longer in shambles, the diet is off, and I can get back to cooking. But I'm easing into it.
Leftover prosciutto pizza, with an egg for breakfast.

My go to strategy for many leftovers. To paraphrase Beyoncé.. if you liked it, then you shoulda put an egg on it!
I had a little extra time this morning, and a couple pickling cukes in the fridge, so I made a jar of honey-hot refrigerator pickles.

Would you mind sharing the recipe that you used for those?
Oh yes! That looks good!
