Goodluck Rick I will pray for you also.
All of my prayers are answered but it's usually, "Seriously? you interrupted me for that?"
Amen to that.
Tim Tebow is a local kid from here (Jacksonville). The rest of the country is just now finding out about him. He really hasn't changed since playing football here in high school. (He was home schooled but played h.s. sports). Jaguar fans (this was a Florida Gator town before it was an NFL town) are still po'd that he wasn't picked up by the Jags.
Short set back. I've developed an infection in the shoulder and the stuff they have me on let's me fade in and out. I was posting earlier and
"woke up" to a zillion i's on the page. Wonked out in the middle of typing. Kinda funny and I had to chuckle.
I have daily appointments the next few days so the surgeon can keep an eye on it. Hopefully the antibiotics and stuff will do their thing and we'll be back on schedule. Great guns, though, until this.
If I toss out something stupid just cut me some slack 'till I get back to it. Driving and typing on drugs is hard, ya know.
got ya covered!
Sorry about the bump in the road to recovery, Rick. Hope it clears up fast.
Now if we cut you some slack, you might get used to it, and then where will we be?
Keeping you on your toes will do wonders for your shoulder. And that's my professional opinion. :nurse:
Sorry to hear about the temporary setback. If'n you need me to post the hong picture for you just let me know.
Et tu, Brute?
Just trying to help a friend that is a little under the weather...........not to be confused with helping a friend that has a little underwear.
It has been called many things but little is not one of them. I donate my used pairs to the military so they can launch Predator drones.
For those that might have offered up a prayer or two my thanks. The suture line opened this morning and while that my not sound like a good thing it relieved the pressure on the shoulder and I feel Soooo much better. Yesterday was a genuinely bad day. I meet with the surgeon this morning so now we can chart a course to remove the infection and get rolling again. Thanks!
12 yrs. ago I had to spend a week in a hospital hooked to and IV antibiotic drip. (a course w/orals wasn't doing the job completely) Infections can be a nasty thing if not taken care of, but easily treated when caught early.
Wish you all the best, Rick. You'll be fine in no time.
Just got home from the dr.'s. I'm beginning to have my doubts about this Puruvian Witch Dr. I swear he said something about a power washer....
I actually go back into surgery tomorrow afternoon. They are going to open the shoulder and clean it out. For those keeping score.....Rick....326.....Ninja Bacteria.....1.
Prayer coverage from the Mtn's of E. TN! ('round here God is a local call)
Mind over matter- you don't mind 'hit don't matter
Maybe they should try maggots.
Swear to God, the med community has very recently revived this option (old wives, well proven remedy) as a legitimate way to go. Made the network news in last few weeks.
Good luck tomorrow!!!
Give that one the old college try and let me know how it works. For now, I'm going with the guy in the colorful hat and a Llama.

It is gross and it would be the last resort for me but it's fascinating nonetheless.

When I first started work a local power lineman was grounding out a line the dispatcher said was cold. It wasn't and he was severely burned loosing most of the skin on the bottoms of his feet. They used laboratory maggots on him. Apparently, they only consume dead or necrotic tissue.
Good luck Rick, heal fast
Well don't throw up on the maggots. The get dry heeves real easy.
Best wishes to you.
Please let the record show that it is now 10:30 A. M. and I have yet to have my morning coffee. I've been NPO since midnight and it looks like "morning" coffee will be about 5:00 this afternoon. That is just plain wrong.
"In the 2012 medical museum they wouldn't even allow patients to drink coffee until AFTER surgery."
"Isn't that illegal?"
"well it is now but we're talking ancient American"
"It's a wonder our race survived."
"They even believed in global warming."
Laughter throughout tour group.
I'll drink an extra pot of coffee for you. I know, I know....a selfless act indeed.....no need to thank me.
Well, look at the bright side, Rick. At least the infection isn't in your colon. If it was, the'd remove the infected part, and we'd be making jokes about you having a semi-colon.
(Get better, soon. Prayers sent.)
So howya now Ricker?
Bump.............
Rick??? Oh goodness Rick? RICK!! Hello??
(Crash we may need to use the DOC fund to get the Rick a new Hong for his funeral. I pray not! Oh Mercy...)
He's probably out partying in his hong.
He's probably modeling his hong so he can come up with more pictures to terrorize the forum.
Heeeeeere's Johny.....or me. I'm back. The shoulder was cleaned out on last Thursday with a 4 day stay in the hospital with IV antibiotics. Then yesterday the shoulder opened and started draining again. Not to be all gross but this time the drainage is better (that's probably relative, I guess). They tried to culture the bacteria but didn't get anything to grow probably courtesy of the antibiotics I was on prior to surgery. They are making the assumption that it is Staphylococcus aureus since it is the most common post operative infection and they don't believe it to be MRSA based on what they are seeing.
As it stands, I see the surgeon again tomorrow morning and may be back in surgery again on Thursday.
If chicks dig scars, I'm working on adoration. At this point you can probably drive from here to Fargo using my shoulder as a road map. The good news is I lost 12 pounds in the last 4 days but not a diet I can highly endorse. Someone point me in the direction of the nearest windmill. I have jousting to do.
Glad you're no worse for the wear. I wouldn't have expected anything less!
And, there's something to be said for having a built in road map on your shoulder. Hope you like Fargo.
How you doin', Nell?
They say only the good die young- for your sake I hope that's true! Hahaha, just kidding! May you and the sawbones get you sorted out ASAP.
Hang in there....when and if I need thing done, I want a DR the is "done" practicing, ......get it, Joke.....
The blue pills are pretty good.....
