Just talked to Dustin, and he is one angry young man,not understanding why they put him on the pain meds, but calmed down alot after I explained that his vital signs were getting extremely high due to the pain he was feeling, but he wants to be able to get up and go to the restroom, not have the catheter, and they told him he could not get up because of the meds.
They told him that it was devine intervention that his spinal cord was not injured,That is some blessed news since he has 3 broken vertebrae in his back.
-
Sounds great......Relativitily speaking of course.......
-
That is good news...They can replace vertebrae, but can not fix a spinal cord....you are all in our prayers....

-
Im happy hes doing better.
-
Glad to here things are looking better, and hope for a speedy recovery.
-
Yep!
He' angry & arguing...YEP! That's a Marine all right! Hang in there buddy!!!

At this moment,I think he pretty sedate,he is in surgery to fuse the 3 broken bones in his neck ( I bet those nurses are thanking God too,as he was quite beligerent when I first talked to him,I did get him to calm down a "smidge")
I did get a chuckle out of him when I told him I heard he had a pretty cute nurse ,BTW that is an evil thing to do to someone who has broken ribs and a broken jaw,but he swears he didn't feel any pain (thank the nurses for the morphine;))
-
Nell, I agree with Sarge. No Marine I know will go down without a fight. He's cussin and fightin, that's all good.
Be strong, that's what mom's and sister's do. My prayers will keep coming till they aren't needed.
-
We'll keep him (and the family) in prayer. "Fire for effect". Mac

-
Nell, sorry to hear about Dustin. Prayers go out to Dustin and your family. Godspeed.
-
Some good news is he is awake and they are letting him eat small amounts this morning,if he can keep that down, they may move him out of ICU today.
Asked him how his surgery went, his reply was "I don't know,I was unconcious" I do feel sorry for those nurses, the little brat.
-
Nell, great news. His "humor" will help his healing. :)
-
Excellent news!! After his experience, a little "brattiness" is authorized ;0
-
so sorry to hear that. I'll put in a good word for him.
