If I bought into the whole SHTF stuff I think I would turn off all the lights, close the blinds and wait till everyone has bugged out.
I have 3 4x4 Toyota's. Sequoia, T-l00 and a RAV-4. I also have 2 old Skidoo 440 snowmachines as well as an Arctic Cat 500 manual shift ATV. Oh, just remembered I also have a brand new Yamaha 450 grizzly. It belongs to someone else but if the SHTF, he is to far away to use it. :D
Finders keepers at that point, huh?:D

In a life and death struggle for survival, I don't think the location of other people would really matter. Whether you ran across "city people" or "country folk", if they had a desire to take your food or your life - the situation would be the same.

You can never have so little that the thug with a club will try to take even that from you.
I keep coming back to the fact that if I'm injured (broken arm, etc.) I can still drive my truck. That would be pretty tough on a bike.
I guess that "survival vehicle" boils down to a few factors.
1. Where you are.
2. Where you are going.
3. (and maybe most importantly) What you have.
and what condition youre in.
Like Klkak, I believe in Toyotas. I have an 04 4Runner V8 4wd pulling an 06 26ft Outback Travel Trailer and a 96 Tacoma 2.4 2wd pulling a utility trailer packed with 04 HD Roadster, genset, fuel, food, water, etc. Tacoma is already a "Bug Out Vehicle". It has a topper with a built-in bed, shelving, 110, 12volt, and propane lights, heat, A/C, etc. It works too, as I've already spent over 75 nights this year in it as I travel for work. Family knows the plan and what we need to do should "that day" ever come.
Know the HD isn't that practical, but until I get a couple dirt bikes for "scouting", it'll have to do.
