Travel safe. I'll see you Saturday.
Well - I had the pleasure of meeting Huntermj today while standing around in the rain for a few hours. Enjoy the rest of your trip - looks like things will dry out over the next couple of days.
He picked a nice area for sure. I love the Juniper canoe run but am not enthused with the spring itself. Walling up the edges takes away from the natural beauty of it but the water wheel is cool. We had a bear in our garbage there one night and I unzipped the tent, woke up my wife and daughter so they could see it and threw a flipflop at him and he tore outta there like a scalded hog. I t would be nice this time of year with no elec. the summer heat makes it tough to sleep. Ive since gotten an inverter and small fan with deepcycle battery for that purpose. The lounge in the middle of nowhere[used to be called the Frontier] gets wild and crazy on weekends. I used to bowhunt the forest years ago and had more luck in the bar than the woods. Crash Im sure you told him about Alexander springs to the East and Silver springs to the West not far from his site. The subtropical look of the canoe trail will leave any northerner in awe.
He already had researched Alexander and is planning on a visit.
What would you have done if he had put it on then came in the tent for the other one?!Quote:

They are constantly trapping bears in there and tranporting them several miles away but they come back often and are finally sadly put down after repeated attempts to relocate so the game warden told me.
I made it out alive! Just chilling at the hotel waiting for an early flight and cleaning a layer of dirt off. i stayed two nights at juniper two nights at alexander and two nights at some lake south on the way to st. fracncis trail. All were very beautiful and im glad i made the trip. I looked for bears and gaters, found none, Zero, Zip, I think there a myth to keep Yankees away.`Anyways, ill post pics and such later. :D
See Ya All Later, Come Back Now Ya hear
Don't forget my old stompin' grounds - UCLA (Upper Corner, Lower Alabama) aka panhandle.
I saw the biggest wild gator ever at Alexander springs, downriver about a mile. After the sharp right turn the water sadly turns murky and he was chillin on the bank with his mouth open.
Well the trip went well and i will post pics tommorow. The flight home was not so good. The man at the window seat in my aslie was acting "oddly" he was swetting profussly and shaken
just as i was about to get up to talk to an attendent she pops up and starts asking him questions.
He was pulled from the flight and we were rescreened.
The flight crew was more upset then the passengers.
Long story short this guy looked sick and was acting weird instead of going to his seat he went to the back of the plane and started undoing his carrying-on on the floor. I still need to process some of what happened but. it was great to see everyone thank the flight attendent for her actions rather then be upset about the delay. Its been a long day and ill fix the spelling later...nah
Ive flown once in 77 and have no use for em anymore. As a survivor theres something about being stuck somewhere that I try not to get myself into. I dont take ocean cruises either and prefer to be in control instead of putting my safety in the hands of others. I rarely even ride in a car as a passenger. I hope the guy wasent sick with something contagious and glad all came out ok.
Ya the guy was coughing and didn't look healthy. I even remarked to the guy next to me "great we get to fly with patient zero" Thats the part thats bothering me the most right now. He spoke little english but said he was from madrid.

Man removed from plane at OIA

There were some scary moments for passengers aboard US Airways flight 1926 out of Orlando International Airport . The aircraft was scheduled for take off at 7:20 Friday morning, but it didn't leave on time.
According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation , a man boarded the plane late. He was booked with a window seat but wanted to sit in the aisle.
The FBI said the passenger then asked another passenger to switch seats. When that passenger refused, the man in question kept persisting. According to a statement released by the Transportation Security Administration , "a passenger began behaving erratically."
Passengers on the plane told the FBI that man was sweating heavily, so someone reported him to the flight crew. The FBI said that, "in an abundance of caution, the pilot returned the plane to the terminal."
Following TSA protocol, all passengers were removed from the plane, while the FBI and Orlando Police officers interviewed the man. After intense questioning, the FBI determined that the man was running late and just acting irrational, but was not a security threat.
Two hours later, TSA officers screened everyone a second time before allowing passengers to re-board the plane.
Ah... well that story is not very acurate.
The guy wasnt running late, He was onboard the plane before me.
He barely spoke english, realy only knew a couple of words, I know this because i spoke to him.
So he didnt have the ability to ask someone to change seats. And i never saw him try to talk to anyone other then me and the guy sitting between us.
irrational, the guy was was acting scared out of his mind while trying to smile and act like he was ok.
What??? you mean the news had it wrong??? cant be!! Hey Huntermj..glad you had a good time and that you were able to get away from the cold for a week! Cant wait to see your pictures.
There were a lot of squirles running around the campgrounds. Oh, the car i rented was fully loaded, even came with a "cat folder" I guess thats for when your trying to fit a lot of cats in the glove box it folds them for you nice and neet.
Sunsets were beautiful but the hiking trails were a little wet, ya thats a hiking trail. It rained a bit while i was there.
I slept in the hammock, the armadillos were freeking me out.
How well did you sleep in your hammock? It is the best way to camp in Florida in my opinion. I will never forget camping when I was a kid, being able to hear a rattle snake while in a mosquito net, but not being able to see it. Great pictures, thanks
