Hopefully, I'll be retired-retired by then (having done it twice before) and I can stay in my little corner of the world.

Whatever 2012 brings, I hope it includes a wholesale change in the membership of Congress and our state legislatures.
hey now, none of that.
2012 is not supposed to be the "END OF THE WORLD", just the end of the world as we know it... There will be an internal breakdown of society and Government. The week will fall, the strong will thrive, evil will attempt to overthrow good, but in the end good will prevail. It will be a second chance for mankind forcing us to start from scratch. This world has transformed into something pathetic and I for 1 welcome 2012. it will be the rebirth of a new way of living. I will be prepared and ready "if it happens"...

Heck if they were that good reading the tea leaves, wouldn't they be millionaires? Worrying about it is almost as important (in my mind) as preparing for a "pink rabbit" invasion. I guess in 2012, I will vote, tend to my yard, vacation, just as I have over the last half century or so. So other than for entertainment value, there is no 2012 issue for me
Oh, and just in case I have missed something, feel free to post some factual sources of information on the impending doom. But please, no opinion positions by neh bob pundits.
I am always open to change
how do you know about the pink rabbit invasion..?!
If the Mayans were so good at predicting the future, how come they didn't see Cortez coming?
He wore camouflage.
They aren't extinct, you silly pink rabbit. The are living in Berkley and waiting for 2012 to arrive. They are actually advising Schwarzenegger on the finer points of managing a state economy. On second thought, that 2012 thing could start in California and just spread. (GASP!)
I have definitive proof that nothing will happen in 2012. The British Govt wouldn't fork out billions getting ready for the Olympics if it's the end of the world as we know it.:innocent:
Gee?! Which is it?

true story.
Pink rabbits.......pink rabbits.......pink rabbits:eek:
Great....something else to add to the list....
Hey, Y'all better not underestimate those pink rabbits. I hear, they are all females.......menopausal females!:innocent:
Oh, Lord. I fear another Monty Python vid being posted.
Everyone seems to be picking fun at my post....
Id just like to clarify something. I didn't say I am a hardcore believer that 2012 is going to be as accurate of an occurrence as the text predicts. And all those thoughts I added in were merely what I deciphered from the text. For all we know it will be another Y2K.
But for as the current world events that have been plaguing our television, especially the events taking place in our own country, unfolding day by day, I don't think any of us can deny that something bad is not in our near future.
Isn't that what the whole mind set of a survivalist should be?.......preparing for something, training, gathering gear and testing it out, all in preparation for that worst case scenario?? So that above anything else, he WILL survive... I'm sure we all agree, its better to prepare for the worst case scenario that never comes, than not be prepared for the worst case scenario that we all say would never come and does...
Whether it be 2012, 2013,2014,2015........or 2020...
I know that I WILL survive.......
just a little food for thought...
MVP, we make fun of everything, around here. Don't take it personally.
I understand what you're saying, about the 2012 stuff. The way I see it, life is always changing, so I have to assume that it will also change in 2012. The question is what will change, and as you stated.....will we be ready for it.
O no I didn't take it personally......i welcome all input man, sorry if my response sounded defensive.......
Don't really need a Bible, Nostrodamus, Da Vinci or the Mayan calendar to see the writing on the wall.
Why do people cling onto this kinda stuff? and get absorbed by it?
Yeah, I saw the writing on the wall earlier today. It said "for a good time, call..." Didn't get to finish reading - there was a waiting line.
Now that right there is funny I don't care who you are.
Hey, MVP - You probably haven't seen this thread. Take a read here. It will give you an idea of the different groups that are on the forum. Mac did a pretty good write up.

I don't worry about the economy or 2012 or any of that other stuff. I'm too paranoid about tornadoes and winter storms and other weather stuff that happens all the time to be paranoid about hocus pocus stuff.
It's not 2012 I'm worried about, it's the next 7yr that "Oh My Goda" is in office.
Actually, that's four years unless you already have him re-elected.
