Communications here are kicked out by the way. I'm foraging through Winnipeg, avoiding other looters, trying to find a way to communicate with other WolfPack members (one in particular :o)

I move through downtown streets staying close to buildings, watching for movement. Corpses are everywhere, burned out cars piled into each other and into buildings, windows are smashed, some stores have been looted.
I have a pair of snow goggles and a liteweight scarf wrapped around my nose and mouth, it was the quickest safety/breathing apparatus I could come up with. I am certain that the virus has run its course, but I don't want to find out the hard way that I'm not immune. This morning I looted a hunting/outfitting shop. I have a .243 rifle, a 40 cal handgun and a Bowie knife. I have a small backpack loaded with MRE's and a first aid kit. Now I'm looking for someplace where I can find operational communications. I'm moving toward the financial area, banks and brokerages have their own servers and emergency power generators. I see a small group of looters climbing through the broken front window of a retail outlet. I fade back into the shadows and wait, moving only when I'm sure they've moved on. There have been surprisingly few looters...so many dead. the corpses stink around me.
With the butt of the rifle, I break the glass panel of the front door of a banking tower and climb through the opening. I head for the stairs, not trusting the elevators running on emergency power. If I can get online, I can search for my friends. After I make a comm. link, I'll steal a 4x4 truck and load up with jugs of water and food that is sealed. But there's no point in heading out from here until I have somewhere to head. I kick in the door of the first set of offices I come too. A woman's corpse is at a desk with her head down on the keyboard. the computer is gone. I gently push her back on her rolling chair, but her body flops sideways and hits the carpet. I start typing...

Wow! Hab I got a coad. A berry bad coad. Scared da pee waddins outta me 'cause I taught I had the bug. (Sniff). I managed to find some can goods and even scrounged up a generator from some guy's garage. I sure wish I had listened (cough) to you guys about preparations. I got 12 cans of beans at one house. I hab no idea why they had that many but ain't I lucky?
after further consideration, i've determined that i'm not in fact dead, it just felt like it for a bit.
i've gathered the batteries from my neighborhood's vehicles, my trim routers, solderin iron and a pack load of gear together with all of my bulk grains and beans. i'm headed via toyota tacoma up the tuolumne to where the water's cleaner. the hills up this way are drivable off-road for a long ways. there's nothing in this valley to keep me here.
No ,going around Chicago just to the south of it,heard about that city,lol ,slow going on horse back,but the roads are all pretty much a mess

Get a 4x4 and fill up, take a few jerrycans and fill them as well. The price never will be better than it is right now! And do you have a gun? Cuz..they're free too, probably anyone you meet is going to be armed.Quote:

the dogs are eating on the copses, the Lorson is what I grabbed when I left,but should be able to find something bigger soon.
Head shots, it'll stop man or dog, approach any place your foraging/looting with caution. Others will be looking for the same resources you will.

Me an' Mr. Bull Dozer been knocking down houses! Now I got me a good field of fire. I had to make some windows in the North & south part of my house so's I can see all around me! Met a former National Guards man name of Chris who's got a military Humvee. If we can figure out where to go I might leave here. He's gonna hook up a trailer to it but I don't know how that'll work on the roads, may have to move with just whatever we can load up in the Humvee itself. Shot at someone today who took a pot shot at me. I caught him square in the eye with a High Velocity .22 cal. LR Hollow Point! Went right into his brain neat as you please. Geez the size of the hole in the back was enough to make me barf, but I think I'm getting a bit used to all this gore. Guy looked like one of those "hard-core" survivalist types who seem to think he was bullet-proof. Doggone you Rick, you scared the crap outta me! Take lots of Vitamin "C" to knock that cold outta your system, unless that Nurse wife of yours has some anti-biotics stashed somewhere. Trax, glad you're up and around. Thought you had "gone under" for sure. war Eagles been messin' with the Stones music again. Probably hitting the Turkey pretty hard too. I'll let you know what we're up to. May head for Canada as well as they seem to have a lot more Wilderness up that way.

I'm at an abandoned motel east of Winnipeg. Ripped off a laptop on my way out of the city and this place has Internet hook up. Have a Chev v-6 4X4, filled the tank and 4 5-gallon jerry cans. I've loaded all the sealed groceries I could grab and have 10 5 gallon jugs of water. Had to stop because I was interrupted by other looters.
Some guy with a 12 gauge walked around the truck and said "thanks for loading it up for us" I put a 40 cal round in his crotch and moved fast before his buddies could react. There's a few pellets in the tailgate. Gonna keep moving east toward WE, thinking we can hook up, or else head toward Wisconsin for Nell if she's having trouble getting here. Like the isolation of WE's place if we can get there? Anyone else? Logging off and moving again.

For now, keep moving. We're going to have to get our long and lat and send them, I never got a GPS but will find one when I stop. Lots of outfitters in NW Ontario that I can pillage.
Ok ,I have to find a GPS unit somewhere too,or see what I can come up with on google earth at the next city I come to.
Arm's good, healing nicely. Chris is also a medic. i was going to take the 'Dozer
across town and knock out the front doors of the Farm king store to stock up on guns, knives, ammo & the like but Chris said he'd already been out that way and some others had been there 1st! His idea was better; we raided the National Guard Armory, which was easy as he had the combo to the weapons vault. I've got two Colt 1911 .45's with boxes of Ammo, A bunch of AR 15's in case we hook up with any friendlies and they need a weapon, all kinds of ammo for those, and a SAW with 2000 rds...OOOHRAH! Also we picked up a 2nd Humvee and several 5 Gal. Jerry cans of Diesel Fuel...these things don't seem to run on Ethyl. Also got ten cases of MRE's and some explosives. Chris knows the whereabouts of just about every National Guard Unit between here and Winnepeg! Says he don't know the combo's to those vaults and we may have to blow them open! Send me directions to WE's homestead and we'll try our luck. Later.
My GPS is goofy. On again, off again. My guess is the command centers are abandoned and it's only a matter of time before we lose GPS, too. Lot of stores have been looted. I saw one guy that had died trying to cart off a plasma screen. Crazy. Last moment on the planet spent looting. Just stupid. I found a house with an indoor swimming pool and I've loaded a bunch of water containers in the truck.
I drained a couple of vehicle gas tanks and got the generator going. The furnace is finally working again. I'm just perched in my upstairs window keeping an eye on things. It's so quiet around here it's eerie.
I have made it almost to Wisconson,getting late ,going to find a hideaway for the night,going to be alot easier now that I dont have to find food for the horses,looking for a home with an old barn or garage where I can hide the 4x4,and still has electricity so I can charge up my batteries,Trax,just sent you a pm with my cell #,if you have yours call me and I'll give you my lat and long.

Sorry I am late! I was hung up at work with some virus that was making a lot of people sick, I got off duty and went home. Woke-up about 15 hours later and checked the forum...wow did I miss something. The lady is probably about 15 miles away, and I am having trouble communicating to her...phones must be down.
I hope she remembers that we have a present meeting point and a known path to get there. If she isn't at the meeting point, I know her route to get there and I can begin to backtrack. Or do I wait here, thinking she'll come home. Is she even OK?
I am glad we discussed this scenario, about every 6 months. I am glad to see everybody else is OK!
Working my butt off I have not seen a living person cents the two guys on the mountain I am here in Blue Lake on the coast of Northern Calif. now by the fish hatchery I putting up web cams and sitting trap for the dogs seems I have goats now and 4 cows , with all the livestock around why are the dogs after mine. But its gotten lonely here and all of you are 3000 miles away . Sorry to hear about all the trouble you all have had with people. If someone does show I hope they're not crazy I would hate to shot the first person I've seen in a month
Been on the road for about 7 hours now,got my phone and laptop charged back up grabbed a hot bath and washed my clothes before sleeping for a couple of hours,woke up because someone was trying to get into the garage,he was after the 4x4,he left when I shot at him,I knicked his shoulder,he was none too happy,and looked like he had a knife on him,I was pretty worried when I loaded up in the truck to head out,hoping he was really gone,didn't see him again.
I have made it to Eau Claire Wisconson and should make it into Minnesota,before night fall,its just sooo slow going because of all the cars stopped on the roadways,should have been in Canada by now ggrrrrr.Have not heard from Trax,where are you???
i made it to upper don pedro reservoir above moccasin.
at a nearby hardware store there was little left. i copped the rectifier from an ark welder, some tinsnips, a pop riveter, and some misc. essentials.
i'm setup near a small bride over the tuolumne above the first rise from the resevoir where the fishing is good and the current has some strength behind it. i'm working on two water wheeles to connect to my router motors.
there aren't many people around. i can see the smoke of fires in the distance but don't need to venture near yet.
just woke up from a nap think i'll eat something then stoke the fire and maybe take another nap ahhh lifes good when i don't have to go to work oh well nap time.
