I did a little more burning, chipping and sanding. I charred the outside and gave it a light coat of mineral oil.

Now if you were in the wilderness, what would you have used for sand paper & mineral oil?
Would animal fat or some kind of nut oil do in a pinch?
Looks Great! I realy like the way you burned in to the side, leaving the rings outside! Way cool!
I like that alot, some how I was thinking that the piece of oak was a "round", I guess it took a look at the grain for me to seen that it wasn't.
I like using the chard-ed surface on my outdoor furniture.
Seems to seal and provide a good looking finish, with out a finish.
