When I was serious inot Radio control plane flying and building as a hobby a feller on a forum for such did a study on battery storage. It was found and backed up by other scientific studies that the best temp to store batteries was just above freezing. 35- 42 Farenheit.
Some fridges don't have moisture control and condensation forms on stuff, like ours.
I store all my RC batteries at the coolest part of the house on the floor, around 60 degrees in an ammo can. According to all the studies I've seen there really isn't much difference in loss of juice from 65 down to 35 degrees farenheit.
Rechargable NIMH batteries lose their charge worse than any other battery. Almost immediately after charging they start dropping off and continue regardless of temp. Lithium polymer or Lithium ion lose the least.
