No Problem MVP. That's what being part of the Community is supposed to be(at least in my opinion) each one helping each other out. It's easy for those of us that have been in the military to assume that everyone understands the lingo,after we get used to throwing it around all the time. I do it sometimes myself. Some we(I) just don't even bother learning as it really isn't that important to learn until you have to. It was probably 6-7 years before Someone explained to me what TOE meant. (Training and Organizational Equipment). I still have no clue what TA-50 meant. Yet it was a term we used at least weekly, we just understood that it meant our issued equipment.

Many thanks to all. As near as I can tell (in my opinion the military uses way too many abbreviations and acronyms) Diane is a member of the 10th Mountain Division Brigade Support Battalion...beyond that I am not sure. I do know that she was planning on doing a lot of truck driving...which makes me a bit nervy considering the prevelance of I.E.D.s on the roadways in Iraq. Currently Diane is training at Camp Buehring, which is on the Kuwait/Iraq border. I was looking at some pictures last night, and the camp is a true tent city with nothing but reddish brown sand to be seen for miles.

FYI.....The TA in TA-50 means Table Of Allowances. How that references gear, I have no clue....

TA-50 is the semi-vernacular for the personal equipment issued to the soldier; e.g. ruck, poncho, etc. I don't think that's changed in 17 years (man, has it been that long?).

I would like to thank you for supporting her. It is great to hear of someone supporting Soldiers like that. I am lucky enough to have a wife that handles everything. This is my second tour since 2007, so she is getting pretty good at keeping track of things. I just left Camp Buering a few weeks and it was still pretty hot there. I am at Camp Liberty outside Baghdad and it is in the 90s right now. It will continue to cool off at least til the spring when it goes back into the 120-130s. Tell her I said good luck and any questions send them my way, I am more than happy to answer them.
