I have a Buck Folding Hunter I have used for over twenty years and it is still the best knife I own. I have several fixed blade knives, even a couple of custom knives, but other than a Gerber Multi-plier which is an everyday carry - the Buck is what I carry most often.Quote:

I just bought a byrd Cara Cara and I love it. Basically it's owned by spyderco but made in china. I paid 23 bucks for it and it is very well made.
I love my CRKT crawford falcon folder. its awesome!
I have three of those. One is a rescue with FRN handle, one plane with FRN handle, and another plain with steel handle. The steel handled one has a ScArY sharp edge.Quote:

For a slippie I would have to say victorinox soldier, for a locking blade CRKT M16-13M.
I've been carrying a Victorinox Fieldmaster for as long as I can remember. I can't think of any knife I would rather have for daily carry.
In my hunting/hiking pack I have a Buck Bucklite folder. It has field dressed a lot of animals and I have no desire to replace it.
I have literally hundreds of folders... Depends what I'm doing at the moment tho.... If I'm boating or rafting I want at least a half serrated edge.... Other than that I prefer a fine edge.. My 2 favorite that I carry the most are my Kershaw blur fine edge and my SOG twitch xl .. Both knives cost a pretty penny but are of extremely high quality.... If u r goin to rely on a knife it pays to have a high quality one in my opinion... Too many cheap "bargains" have broke on me when I was using them over thyears..

i havnt used alot of them but i like a good ol buck knife.
Victorinox Lockblade, beats all the others hands-down.
Stony - Victorinox makes a lot of different locking blades. The Alpiner, Picnicker, Adventurer, Rucksack, Equestrian and Helsman as well as over a dozen other models. Which one is hands down?
I gotta go with the blade my Dad gave me 25 years ago. Dont know the maker, made in utica,ny, sharp,good steel and is practically indestructable.

I agree with Crash, I usually carry my Gerber or my Emerson CQC6 but I have a ton of good folders. To me they are a part of my everyday day carry but no more than tool.
In a pinch any knife is better than no knife no matter who makes it.
As far as fixed blade I carry either a handmade knife, or my seal pup which is a great knife.
