I didn't mean it to look that way Doug. I get carried away trying to show what can be done with digital. Your pictures are very good and show exactly what you were trying to show...Light and the source.

No No I love your pics. I'm glad you shared I need to learn. I played around today a bit more and can't figure out how to adjust the shutter speed on my camera.

The ISO is at 80 and stopped at F4 and 1/30 shutter.

I can adjust the ISO...not sure what that does though.

F4...no idea what that is.

1/30 shutter...can't adjust it.

The ISO i the same a film speed or ASA in a film camera.
F4 is the opening on your lens aperture
You should be able to adjust the shutter speed but only in TV mode or whatever Sony calls the shutter priority mode.

These are the specs on that one picture you took:

Peter I don't think anyone thinks you were rude(I don't anyway, and I should speak for myself only). I think we are all amazed at what you have accomplished, and are eagerly trying to learn something. That my friend is the truly Amazing thing about the internet,otherwise I would be even more clueless than I was just a little while ago.

Great pictures Peter. I love my SLR cameras, but I too am sold on digital. I went on a hike today and snapped right around 300 pictures. Can't afford to do that with film.

The picture specs are the EXIF (Exchangeable image file format )

That's information that's encoded in Digital pictures...Scary, huh.

You can read it with a lot of programs, including Photohop, but I use a shareware program called Opanda Exif 2.3

You can also erase it if you want to keep things private, using the same programs.
