Here's a great 2012 movie trailer: http://www.fancast.com/movies/2012-(...e-Scene/videos
Party on Dec. 20, 2012, Just in case.................
Just don't do like the guy that ran up us Am-Ex card the last time the world was ending. He was so convinced it would end that he charged everything in sight, with no ability to every pay it back. I wonder how that worked for him.
i think on 2012 there will be a huge eruption of embarrassed laughter by new aged experts from the over whelming lack of catastrophe. the movie looks like fun though.
When my other half asked me why I wanted to marry her in the spring of 2013, I told her that if we lived through dec.2012, I"d figure...what the heck...It must be meant to be. She had no idea what I was talking about. When I told her, she said that I'm full of crap. Now that she has thought about it (Read as; She doesn't want to wait that long.), she now says that the 2012 stuff is true, and she doesn't want to die un-married. Go figure!:innocent:
You can't win, 2D. She's.....one of them.
I wonder what the shelf life is on granny's Y2K survival rations?
Yeah the whole "world ending on the year 2012" is based on the Mayan calender; so they even made a movie about it hoping it's not true as they won't enjoy all of the cash they're going to rake in. So what do we know about the Mayans? (The people, not the....whatever.:alien:) Not much, they were very primitive, didnt know beans about how to make indoor plumbing, automobiles, electricity, penicillin, wore really weird outfits & we trust them to make really great calenders that accurately predict the end of the world? C'mon, how many Mayans does it take to screw in a light bulb? Answer: NONE! They never had electricity! :innocent::sneaky2::cool2:
when the world actually ends, i don't think any of us will have seen it coming. wait... where did the light g....
here's my take on the 2012 mayan calendar. There's been enough speculation and ranting about the world ending on this day simply because the calendar ends.
well, the mayan calendar was based on a 46,000 year (of our years) cycle. It is true the earth's tilt slowly changes between something like 18 and 23 degrees over the course of a LONG time. this is similar to the way Native American's calendar was based on Moons, but the Lunar calendar had 13 months.
what happened when their calendar ran out?
what happens every year when our calendars run out?
same thing is gonna happen.
apparently it takes 46k years+/- to go around the galaxy and in the process the earth's tilt changes slightly.
after Dec. 21, 2012, there will be....
Dec.22, 2012.
There's no need to worry, just go back to the beginning of the mayan calendar and start counting down again. I doubt we get to see any new stars, but what the heck, I like the view ;)
I'll see you guys on 12-22-09 (or as soon as I get out of the woods with that huge buck)
I never buy into such far fetched propaganda. If people would just think for themselves nobody would get exploited like this.
OK, maybe not the end of the world, but the end of the world as we know it.
I can see things being different, by the end of December 2012. Think about what is going to happen in November of 2012. No matter which way it goes, a lot of people are going to be ticked off. (The pitchforks could come out.)
I hope it doesn't, but I can see things getting ugly, around that time.
(I think it would be smart of us, to try and keep the crazy/extreme folks in check.) LOL:innocent:
Oops...sorry about that, Winnie. I wasn't thinking, again.
November 2012 is our (American) next Presidential election. I have a feeling that whether Obama is re-elected or not, one side is going to say that there is no way that could happen.
I hope that the election doesn't stir up a lot of trouble, and it probably won't....but then again, I've seen things happen , over the past couple of years, that I never thought I would see.
As luck would have it, I also tilt something like 18 and 23 degrees over the course of a LONG time. Fortunately, in the opposite direction of the earth. That's probably the only thing that keeps me upright.Quote:
