Well it does sound a bit cliches but it has a twist. She was the instigator of the whole thing and was also a memeber of our unit. In the end she was busted down a stripe and the Commander lost his chance of putting on "full bird" due to it. One of the Canadians was a Major, not sure what happened to him though.

Anyone remember this? Thirty years ago - seems like yesterday.

I thought I copied and pasted the story about that Canadian sniper making a shot at over 2000 meters or whatever the heck it was and uh...shooting varmints is shooting varmints no?

I saw that before and while it is a very touching tribute I had to think "I hope no one in southern Ontario required emergency services that day"...

That video was amazing............

That whole ceremony is not official in any way, it was a a very impromtu thing that started after the first Canadian died over there. The gov't didn't want the media at the repatriation ceremony, rightfully so, and several people started this gathering as the fallen troops passed under the overpass as a way to show their respects.
