When I was over seas with the army I stayed away fromthose who were always talking about getting medals.

I dont like stupid people and am firmly convinced that most people are either born stupid or work hard at it daily..........That being said.............My three kids I have taught well, and two are veterans now of Kosovo and Afghanistan and Iraq and they all three can shoot, hunt and will do fine when dad is no longer around......

I choose to spend time with those who can make me laugh my tail off one minute, and make me think the next. I choose few people as "friend" however. Honesty, integrity, intelligence, compassion... these are the qualities that I look for when I meet someone who may become an acquaintance. Then if that same person shows the same qualities at the most common of times, ie; dealing with everyday people and situations, then I may choose to call that person "friend". However, if that person can be honest with me as well as theirself, laugh with me, cry with me, get ripping mad with me, (or at me if needed) and still have a good time "roughing" out in the wilderness with no entertainment needed other than eachothers company.... then that person is a FRIEND.

my biggest quality that i look for in a friend is loyalty and maybe thats why i like animals so much, i taught a good freind a lesson about this once it goes like this.
it was at a ranch in pheonix after the payson rodeo back in 97 or 98 can't recollect a great friend of mine by the name of roy feilds won the bullriding event, he was not at the party, a bunch of other fellers that i had chewed some dirt with was there talking about how roy did not deserve to win that he was barely hanging on to the bull at the buzzer, so i jumped in and said to all.ounds like ya'll are just a bit jealous sure maybe he lost his rope a 7 seconds but he stll was there at 8 and the great ty murray bucked off and so did most of you fellas just be happy for him cuz sooner or later you will win the same way" well they didn't have much arguement about that and when roy heard about this he told me he had learned what a frind was all about. it doesn't matter if you are in a room with 20 people you do like stand up for the person not there that is loyalty
