More snow coming in. Looks like I will be able to try out some snowshoes next month.:D
Well I'm working with one of my staff to take a bunch of newbs out trapping and snowshoeing next month. The weather won't be a question, it'll definitely be winterish. I did the math, all by myself too cuz I'm one of those who are old enough. Now if I can just adjust my alarm clock, been trying to for weeks now...:o
finally got 10 cm on wednesday everwhere else has been getting ponded an hour by crow in any direction had had snow for two weeks already what a beautiful site when living out in the country even though it took an hour longer to get home, had to follow the snow plow down the 17, but i just kept looking out the window saying more more i want more, me and litttle brown dawg love to snow shoe
The lake effect has been a hit or miss around here, we only got about six inches last night. It's been snowing on and off a bit today, nothing too big. We normally get the heavier stuff in late December, but living on the Great Lakes you never know what the weather is going to be like.
LOL! It's snowing again... It will probably take me two hours to get home rather than the one hour it usually takes. good thing the heater works in the car!!
Drive safe.
Be careful LB,we have about 3" of snow here, but it's the ice on top of that that I don't care for,so far there is a 2 hour delay for school, but it will probably be called off, since there are way too many roads here for them to get taken care of in 2 hours .
We are finally getting some snow here, calling for 10-20 cm, depends on which side of the province you are on....
It wound up taking almost 3 hours to drive 50 miles. The roads were real nasty. I just cruised at 30/35 mph. 5 times I almost got forced off the highway by big rigs who had to pass me while they were straddling the center line.:eek: I wound up riding the rumble strip just so i wouldn't end up a statistic.:D
We had 4" of fluffy snow today, yesterday ice, yep I took a header cracked up some ribs and tore some soft tissue, breathing is shall we say an adventure:D
Tsitenha - don't go to the joke thread.:D
now thats funny dang it....ahhhhh :)
OUCH!! Tsitenha, take it easy getting around, yeah? Rest up and allow your body to heal slow and easy, cracked ribs arent anything to fool around with!! Take care of yourself wise one...
LOTS of snow on my way home this morning:cold: It took me an hour just to drive 20 miles as I couldn't see further than 6' in front of me. There were no plows out and I was "plowing" my way through! Thing is, I drive an ittybitty Pontiac Sunfire (I named it Runt :D ) And the Big Rigs were hiding behind ME!! Complete whitout conditions. With 8+ inches of snow on the highway, more coming down as I am driving. And my car only has about 6" of clearance!! I didn't realize when I had left work that the weather had gotten so bad... DOH!! I got off the highway at the first exit I could. And yep, I plowed the exit too! I think I need sled dogs!! LOL!
:eek:Glad you made it home safely, now how about handing them a bill for plowig the roads for them!
Huh, yeah right! I wish!! If the governor finds out he will likely bill me for the lost time that should have gone to the DOT!!
True,so very true!
The lake effect is something else.
I work on the east side of the great salt lake and it snowed 18" and I live on the south side of the great salt lake and there's no snow on my lawn.
Last year the storm come from the north and we got 21" on the south side while the east side got 3"
:eek:If it is like this "down south", can imagine you are getting some "flurries" up your way

Route 81 was closed at Exit 13 (NY 281-Preble) in the Town of Preble. All traffic should use Route 281 or Route 11 as a detour.
The Cortland County 911 center said they have been swamped with calls for accidents.
Anyone traveling along Route 81 south toward Binghamton should expect to encounter delays and closings.
It usually works out that way. People are in too much of a hurry! And there is the fact that a lot of work places really want you to try to make it in. "Well if I made it in I don't see why you can't" This usually comes from a supervisor who has a five minute drive to work, directed at an employee who drives 45 minutes or more, through 3 or 4 different snowbands. And the supervisor has a 4x4 pickup, while the lowly employee is driving a station wagon!!
