Very neat thing of you to do!
I love that little boy. When I'm at work all I hear is how he wants to go outside with Daddy. He loves being outside. We go find lizards and frogs and catch them and make them pets for a few hours in a box and he love looking at birds and the rabbits in the field. He said he can't wait to go hunting with me. He is only 3 so I'm waiting till he starts school to really take him hunting so he will be old enough to appreciate it.
well heres the deal being that my flip phone takes terrible selfies i have to go out again, lol and cook something else while me and the dog finish off the jerky and try to do another photo.

First, the original plan was to pull sleds up the canyon and spend the night. The problem with that is we have NO snow. So, we just drove out to a decent spot in the desert and car camped.

I decided that I was too lazy and just set up camp in the trailer. The scouts slept in the Springbar.

I cooked chile for dinner for everyone, but the scouts had to cook their own breakfast. We used a big propane stove.

Afterwards we did a "tracking" game. Basically one group of scouts and a leader drag a log with some nails in it around in the desert, and then after 20 minutes or so, the rest of us try and track them down. Here is the log.

Her is my son pulling it around.

Here is my younger son trying to find a tracking stick. Apparently they help you find the tracks.

Look, we might actually get some snow.....

So, unusually warm for February....and no snow. If anyone wants to send some snow west....we'll take it!
Cool stuff. Yeah, one of the first things I acquired was a tracking stick. You can never be too careful. What is the brand of stove? I don't think I've ever seen that and what with the stove addiction and all......
Awesome guys! We had to cancel our retreat this weekend due to falling trees due to the ice. Because of this reason I am extending the contest through March, being as we are going out the 7th and 8th.
With that said keep them coming!!!
EDIT: Oh, please be paying attention to this thread as we may have some more goodies to throw into the mix for the contest! Another forum member is getting in on the fun.
FM - What's the brand name of your propane stove?
I don't know, Hunter. It was 3 degrees when I went to the mail box this morning. PJ bottoms and short sleeve T-shirt. That's tough in my book. Didn't linger long though. I did a great impression of Tim Conway on the way back to the house.
Slippers aren't too good in snow.......Hummmm
Maybe grade the contest on a sliding scale?......extra points for difficultly?
