I did not know they were actually two words or could be separated until I took US History in college.

The only valid and unquestioned authority on this matter is Jeff Foxworthy and he is not officially a member of the forum.

The only secondary source is the book How to Speak Southern and they definitely spell it as one word.

Germans finally decided to stop invading other countries and just make better knives and axes, Europe has been more peaceful since. Now is Putin batoning with a pocket knife or something? ;-)

Yep, all the American Georgians were being held back on orders of European Command to let the Russians do their thing in Berlin.
