Tokwan, being in Malaysia you may want to steer away from the wool felt hats. This may be more suitable for your local.

I wear palm leaf hats probably 9 out of 12 months here in NC. I could actually probably get away with all year long with the exception of a few cold days.
I wear this one to work in. I just changed the band.

Speaking of hats.......
Awhile back I had found a Stetson marked with a percentage beaver felt at a flea market.
Now this has no out side hat band, but does have the inside band and liner.
As it is a 7-1/4, and I wear a 7-5/8 it is too small.......so
Thinking I could find a local hat guy and discuss options....went looking and found Cowboy Hat Country.
Tried calling them and found that they were an out let for a place in Georgia, so not really a "hat guy" more like a post office, web site guy.....
So I not sure if I can streatch out a 7-1/4 to 7-5/8 or not....but I still wasn't gonna leave a Stetson behind.....

I think it would be a bit of a stretch to get it to a 7 5/8. I'm not sure but I think that is almost a full inch in circumfrance. I'd have to check my sizing chart I have at home. It would deffinately have to have the inner band removed.Quote:

sizes do vary a tad brand from brand though.
I though I had seen that chart some where.......and yeah, I thought it wasn't gonna work.....

Not if it really has beaver in it. 8 bucks is a good deal. Anymore it is hard to tell exactly how much beaver a hat has in it from brand to brand. A 10 x from Stetson may be 25% where as a 10x from Atwood may be 50% beaver. Or visa versa. The x's unfortunately anymore really aren't standard between companies. The black hat I wear the most often is a 5 x Stetson and I would have to say ( just from my limited knowledge) it has just enough beaver in It to rate an x rating. Not much more.
I would have to look......for sure.
