I'm in the "carry-testing" phase now. I may need to add another securing strap to the pouch, because so far it has displayed an annoying tendency to come open when I least expect it. Due to several setbacks and other problems, I've been forced to reconsider my entire approach. As it has turned out so far, a horizontal-carry pouch causes as many problems as it solves.

Yeah, you never know....even when things seem to be working out, the telling thing is just how often do you wear it, does it become an everyday not think about.....or a I should carry my....whatever...thing.
The little belt pouch has stood that test, so far....not saying it will continue......

The problem was that, as I mentioned before and unless I was very careful, my natural arm movements would often open the pouch. I'm trying a couple of other pouches now, and they don't seem to share that particular shortcoming.

Those SMALL Bic lighters:

I have found a retail source for those small, hard-to-find Bic lighters like to one in Hunter63's belt pouch. I've checked three locations so far (1 in Nevada, 2 in SoCal), and all had 'em.

Try Atlantic Richfield gas stations, known here in the Southwest as ARCO. Their convenience stores have the name AM-PM. The small Bic lighters have always been on the checkout counter. Look closely though, because at first glance they look very much like their big brothers.

Lots of stores around these parts carry them.

For some reason after i posted this, the belt loop on the back decided it was gonna berak...almost...Little bit of imitation sinew, mad a quickie repair....bit looks like the leather has been sweat-ed and banged around enough that I need to watch the patch.

Now that said, I went looking in my knife drawer for another Swiss Army Knife...and its pouch, to pirate...the newer pouches are slightly different, longer and narrower. Agggg....This stuff is never easy the second time around.

So it's back to the patched up pouch for now, but will keep my eyes open for the older style SAK and pouch.

BTW, I guess i didn't realize the mini Bic's were hard to find....every one sells them around here, and as the black one has been in the case with out really being used for something for a long time...........I replaced it with a new one.
