Like someone stated about the model 60 marlin...I have 2 and they both jam on me often, always have. But dad bought the first one for me and it was the first gun he bought me. Internet opinion leans toward a great rifle with no problems. Thats just not my experience, although some day I will figure out the problem :)
Ok I guess online opinion did influence me after leaving the gun in the closet for years I found people online that have ZERO problems with this gun and it renewed interest in it. Actually made me buy another just to experiment on.

I can't say as my opinions have really changed much. I still like single shot rifles and shotguns. I still like revolvers. I still love the Model 24 Savages. I own others, and have owned others, but the core firearms that I enjoy have not changed.
I have asked and received opinions on firearms that I was looking at, and those have helped in my buying decision. But I do tend tend buying what I want anyway, unless I find out about a really bad safety recall or somesuch.

I'd be willing to pay up to $500 here for a G19. The guy wants $850. No one buying for that, though I'm sure someone else with a real **desire** for a G19 will scoop it up in the next month or so, even at that price.
