Oldtrap, that would have been great! I grew Brandywine three years ago. I had a huge crop from them, but I was a bit disappointed in the flavour. They were great cooked, but a bit flavourless raw. It will be interesting to see what you think. I'm growing Red Alert again this year.

Beans, 2 types of dwarf beans.#1 Borlotti,#2 Bobis d'Albenga. Not tried #2 before, they also seem to be a bit ahead of #1.

Failed Tomatoes:sad: No canned tomatoes for me this year:no:
The garden has got away from me lately, my get up and go, got up and left. Winnie jnr has promised to deal with the weeds etc when he visits at the weekend.

Winnie. We both mentioned Brandywine tomatoes earlier in this thread and I wanted to give my opinion of them. You stated you didn't care for their taste raw. The few that we got after the hot dry weather moved in weren't anything to brag on as far as taste. Just didn't have that good old mater bite to them. Also didn't stand up to the heat and dry weather to well. Our old standby Homestead seems to be better fitted to this area. Btw. How did you like you're crooknecks?
