I don't know Chris. There is one thing that I DON'T agree with about the ASPCA, How they can have "Cops" that enforce the law. Other than that I guess they're OK. I just can't understand how a "Private organization" can enforce the law, publicly, and even in your own home. Don't we have REAL cops to enforce our laws? Yeah, there are agencies like the Pinkertons, etc that go after criminals, and such, But what's next? Is Wal-Mart going to have cops to come to our house and check receipts? Don't we have "Animal control" officers that SHOULD be doing these jobs? I just can't see giving a private organization "Jurisdiction" in law enforcement.

The thing I don't like about the ASPCA is their lack of oversight.

That is another thing, they don't seem to be responsible to anyone. Having watched a few episodes of "Animal Cops" on TV a long time ago, I noticed a few things. It would seem that some people(Just a few) were merely intimidated by them into surrendering their pets, rather than go to court, and fight it. It almost reeked (In those instances) of strong-arm tactics. "Well we are the ASPCA Police, and you'll surrender the animal or else." Most of the time though I felt they were right in doing what they do.... but not always. It also seemed like the judges bent over backwards to give them whatever they needed/wanted legally(Warrant etc.).

While they may do a good thing by far and large, I just have a serious problem with giving a private Non Profit agency that kind of authority. So when does the Red Cross get their Blood Police? "Sorry sir but you'll have to come with us.... we need your blood, you have a type we are short on." Or Salvation Army or Goodwill? I mean the "Precedent" has been set in a sense, to open the doors to ALL kinds of Non-profit "LEO's". Wild Turkey Unlimited help in conservation efforts... why can't they have Turkey Unlimited Game Wardens, or Ducks Unlimited? Yeah the examples are extreme.... but not really, if you stop and think about the PRECEDENT that has been set. Precedence has a lot of bearing in these type cases. WHO do they answer to?

I don't usually let them or their theatrics bother me. honestly they would sound at least 10% saner if they would just stop using the word 'murder' or get a dictionary.

You mean they're not extinct?

dictionary; not a thesaurus. murder is a specific word, describing the willful killing of a human being. there are plenty of words to accurately describe the slaughter of animals. slaughter is one of them. it even carries the sensational emotional connotation they seem to be trying to convey, while still being accurate.

they don't have the same meaning and the former does not apply.

Of those ...annihilation, bloodshed, butchery, carnage, slaying... would all work well in their propaganda efforts. I'm sure there are other synonyms found under some of those that would also work quite well. But I agree they need to expand their vocabulary. I would have been a smart aleck to them and said "I'm not a murderer, I'm a butcher." if I had worked there and they tried speaking/yelling "Murderer" at me.

Fair enough. That thesaurus and I hold very different definitions of 'synonym'.

I would have laughed if one of them suffocated from being wrapped.

I thought i was going to see some T&A but all isaw was idiots sure would have liked to be there with my grill set up and some steaks
