Ceptin for the fact, most people have been burned out or just don't care enough any more to put the efforts they did into these arenas as they did back in the day
Hence the choices of candidates filling the arena in today’s political arena
I also fear that if any thing ever did happen to this country, there would be a ton of people dyeing
I helped in Katrina and witnessed first hand how helpless people have allowed themselves to become in adverse conditions and situations
I'm just going to post without reading the other posts, but if anyone other than me should have a say with what I do with my land, it's the Native Americans.

I am not sure if the last name is correct but a guy who, well I'm sure some of the wolf pack will know DICK PENDECKE had some posted signs that sumed it up reeaaal good as to how I feel.
So answer me this: You buy your home and the land that comes with it, you pay on it for 30 years and then to your happy delight its paid off and you own it, but then you still gotta pay tax on the land that is paid off, is this fair? And why? And if it is then why don't you pay taxes on other things you have paid off. And why do I pay state and local taxes if I pay government taxes, isn't this double tax jeperdy or over taxation? I live in the county, work in the city and pay city tax but can't vote on city issues, isn't this taxation without representation?

Slow down there, Speedy Gonzalez. Where doest thou paycheck cometh from? Taxes ye say? Holy Smoketh! Survivor Man. Thou drivest on city streets, walketh on city sidewalks, flush into city sewers, drinketh thy share of purified water (okay, it's CinCity but it's sort of purified). Who doest thou thinketh payeth thy bill? (it's little wonder English has changed from puritan days. eth sucketh succatash). Taxes young lad. Schools, roads, bridges, public libraries, etc. etc. etc.
I do believe you have a point about taxation w/o representation. You could probably try to get some money off of it, going to court or something. Taxation w/o representation is one of the things America has been against for a long time.
I'm voting for Red Green. I think the White House should be relocated to the Possum Lodge. The way I see it, Dougie is Vice President, Harold would make a great Secretary of State, Bill is the ideal Secretary of Defense. Ranger Gord can have the Interior Department and Winston Rothchild III can run EPA. Buzz Sherwood gets Home Land Security. Dalton gets to run the Federal Bank.
Now all we have to do is anex Canada so they are all Americans. Pretty sad when you have to go outside the country to hire good help.
After breezing through a couple of these postings, I have to say I'm sure glad we don't discuss politics. Personally, I'm an anarchist and an iconoclast so......mushrooms anyone?

You work in the city and drive on city streets and all the other things I said. Paid for by tax dollars. I also pay a state, county and city tax and glad to do it. I'll call the city council and see if they will anex you if that will make you feel better.:D

I havent had too much trouble with the Gubmint telling me what I can and cant do on my property.
I live in small town Texas. I cut trees on my place when I feel like it.
I hunt game thats in season. I just recently buried a bunch of cracked corn on my place, and am just getting the wild hogs to come around. Time to stake out a spot and start gathering pork
This last dove season, I was out hunting. I had my Pit Bull laying beside me when I heard someone come up behind me. It was a game warden who decided he had the right to come out on my place and check my license. My pit had other opinions. She took off toward him, and he started to draw his weapon when I leveled off with my 12 gauge and recalled my dog. The Warden reholstered his weapon and called on his radio for backup. The local sherrif's department showed up en masse. A deputy I knew came up and asked what was happening, so I gave him the story. He nodded, said "Be Right Back", and went and told the warden that if he didnt feel like getting arrested for tresspassing then he needed to leave.
A few weeks later I got a letter from The Department of Parks and Wildlife apologizing for the wardens actions.

The government must have some say over land ownership rights to protect the overall well being of the land and it's surroundings. It's complicated, many times the government is the problem but big business and industry could destroy our wilderness in one generation without some governing agency. I believe the government has too much control right now, but we can't eliminate them completely.:confused:
Here in OHIO the Game Wardens can come on your property at any time. You must show them you hunting tags on request. If your not the land owner or apart of the immediate family, you must have permission in writing on you or you will be sighted. Even if you could walk back up to the house and get the land owner to tell the warden in person that you have permission you are still sighted.:eek:Quote:

Here breaking and interring is not considered reason to shoot someone. Texas does handle criminal better than most. I'm all for keeping trespassers off my land, I hope I never have to kill someone to do it though. And it goes without saying that I believe in protecting myself and family based on what is reasonable at the time. I'll let the lawyers sort it out afterwards.:cool:Quote:
