As of now I have to wait for the lawyers office to send me some paperwork to fill out authorizing them to relaese contact information to her, and to me. So it may be a couple of weeks or longer taking care of the legal end. Before we actually get to contact each other.Quote:

Latest update.... Gave the lawyers office verbal okay for information release, while they are waiting for my written okay. Laura ( my daughter) is as excited and aprehensive as I am about meeting. Hope to get a meet-up set with her in the next couple of weeks. I'll let everyone know what happens.

No offense to Ken, but if lawyers weren't involved you would have already been reunited. I understand, because of the situation that there are legal ramifications requiring an abundance of caution - but sometimes people make stuff too complicated.
Looks like you have been given a wonderful opportunity to give her some closure on some issues.
Do whatever the young lady wants, IMO. You might have a great relationship with her. May be great for you both.

Laura called me today! Lawyer finally got the legal stuff done and gave her my number. We talked for over an hour. All the apprehension and fear is gone! Seemed like we have known each other forever. Had a great talk shared a little and laughed a lot, cracked a few jokes. She's going to e-mail me some photo's tonight, and we're going to talk again soon and hopefully meet face to face soon. Now at least some of the initial stress is gone and we can talk more indepth later.

Yes, you should meet her. Believe me when I say (from experience) that it's better to take the chance. I was kinda in the same situation. Basically, my oldest (she's 18 now) was "legally" kidnapped by my ex-mother-in-law. We looked for her for years. The mother-in-law had a guardianship that she tricked my (now) ex-wife and I into signing. We were both young and stupid to do so.
Granted, I haven't had the chance to actually meet her yet (she was told that I was dead and now knows that she was lied to) but she has contacted my other daughter from my first marriage (her sister that I have custody of) and they have been emailing back and forth.
Even if I am a disappointment to her...at least I know her a little. I would much rather have the chance than to have not tried.
agree 110% Laura and I have e-mailed several times exchanged pics and talked on yhe phone several times. Man i am not looking forward to my cell phone bill LOL. My biggest fear with my daughter was would I be a disapointment to her.... So far things are going very well. If you in anywat can meet your daughter. I think you'll be glad you do.Quote:
