I bought the patches and found the CD that came with the first one the ticket to quitting. It explained the cravings, how they would come and how to deal with them.
Rick, they say after 10 years its like you never smoked. I'm almost there. LOL
Never quit drinking and the wife still smokes. So, I had all the excuses and all you really need is a desire to really quit.
You can definitely do it Stargazer. You only need to be strong for 5 minutes at a time.
Anybody heard from stargazer? I hope he didn't choke somebody, and end up in jail. LOL
Hang in there SG. If I can do it, anybody can. I was 2+ packs a day for 20+ years. I haven't had one in over 8 months.
I'm not gonna say that it's easy, but think about your family.
And congratulations to you, 2D. It's tough but anyone can do it..

Its been a crazy last few days thanks for looking out for me.As much as quitting sucks I am doing good and feel better than I did a week ago.As of yet no one has been choked but the list is getting longer.
I am going to treat myself to an REI shopping trip with the cash I didnt spend on smokes last week.

Have fun at REI. This is an excellent reinforcement. NO backsliding. I've seen folks take it easy on camping trips and get hooked again.
