Me, too. :blushing:
Stopped in at an ethnic store yesterday - a place where they have a kitchen in the back. Got myself a couple of pounds of deep fried smoked bacon - chunks about 2" thick by 3" wide by 6" long. Oh yeah, also got myself a big fresh round loaf of bread and some fresh cheese. Butter on the bread, a cold beer........
Only ate a pound of the bacon, so I still have some left!
Finished it off with a large fried dough (malasada) from the same place.
I think I told y'all about frying up some taters and green beans, in bacon grease, but I needed a quick "meal" the other day, so this is what I did.
Rendered a few pieces of bacon. Drained 1 can of diced taters, and 2 cans of green beans, and fried them in the bacon grease. Diced up some left over ham, (some....as in a bunch.) and threw it in there, with the saved bacon, and finished frying it all up. Now that was a meal! LOL:blushing:
It's something I only rarely indulge in. But GOD IT'S GOOD STUFF!

Why did you have to go off topic? Shouldn't you be posting that hate speech here? :sneaky2: http://www.wilderness-survival.net/f...ad.php?t=12086
Order :smash: Order :smash:
Guess my picture turned into a little "x" again, huh?
Well, here it is as an attachment. Food THIS GOOD must be seen ny all.
Saturday, I made pork chops with garlic scape buttermilk mashed potatoes, and salad. Unfortunately I forgot to take pics, and there were no survivors.
For dessert, blueberry buttermilk cake:

I highly recommend it, and you can use any berry you have on hand:

The next morning, I used some of the leftover mashed potatoes to make a potato pancake for breakfast, with cottage cheese and homegrown tomato to go with:

Last night was just some cheap steak, that I marinated for about an hour, and then flung in the grill pan for a couple minutes. The real star was the parmesan polenta that went with. The medium or coarse grind cornmeal stuff is really the key. Some overly mature asparagus on the side:

Since it's Monday, and I forgot to get anything out of the freezer, nothing special tonight.
Looks and sounds great.
Btw, are those Fiesta plates? (I like them)
Makes my Bologna Sandwich look bad ...:sneaky2:
Well I dunno, was the bologna fried in butter? White bread? Yellow mustard?
That's good eats right there!
Baked tilapia...80 cal.
steamed asparagus...45 cal.
small tortilla...50 cal.
total...175 cal.
For supper, I had chicken salad (that I made.) on saltines. Not exactly bacon sammich's, but not bad for semi-healthy stuff.:innocent: LOL
Blackened Dolphin (no no, not flipper) and a salad. I can eat this or sushi about every day. Iam a fish eater.
