Its too Hot to cook tonight,, Going to have a couple of Pastrami Sandwiches , a chilled dill Pickle, Some Lays Chips and an Ice cold Glass Of Milk,,,
I made spegatiti sauce from scratch today. first time. ive only made it with caned sauce that i doctored befofore but not from pealing the tomatoes. it came out good, better then store bought. I had trouble getting the spices right. Found out its not easy without salt. I ended up adding a teaspoon of salt. But it woked out good. And tasted good.
I have a new tank of propane for the grill. I'm thinking chicken tonight!
I had some turkey in the freezer that I had deboned after Thanksgiving. Thawed some out and make turkey salad.
I used to be a grill snob. It had to be wood, charcoal or nothin'. Well, after being in the great white north I can appreciate the speed and consistency for grilling with gas for some things. Primary cooking will always be with wood followed with charcoal. Then with gas and if you can stand it, electric.
I quit using charcoal years ago. No way.. takes too much other resources to char the wood. Since you are going to burn it anyway, why not just burn the wood once? I like the smoke flavor. Never electric on the grill and never gas.
We ate fish tonight, from the weekend fishing expedition. The big ones were a bit muddy, but the bass fillet was beyond delicious. If Ambrosia could be made of meat, it would have been that bass. I ate way too much. There were enough left to eat for 2 more days. Not bad for a $10 fishing trip!
That fish is sounding pretty good!
I have to break a reb taboo and admit to a cardinal sin...I cooked on an electric grill. It was brats (I'd never heard of 'em. They're like big hot dogs). I've cooked them on and in everything and nothing affects the taste.
Mmmm Brauts are gooooood ! especially with a cold beer ;)
Crash is workin' way too hard here. I think he needs to take some time off. Maybe a short cruise would do him some good. :innocent:

While I was at it, I tossed a couple whole sardines on the grill, for my lunch today.
I also put on some acacia pods I gathered, to try and steam them. I still haven't worked up the nerve to try and eat one.

Fried up a dozen of 'em - outside, of course. :innocent: Some corn on the cob, spanish rice, ice cold vinho verde ..........:tongue_smilie:
mashed potaoes are the best. Sweet potatoes even better. A meal by themselves.
A fried egg & cheese sandwich. The egg had a double yoke.
Protein shake for breakfast.
Oatmeal. Same as most mornings. I'd kill for one of them sticky gooey glazed hot cinnamon coffee rolls from Dunkin Donuts. :innocent:
The problem is - that those "sticky gooey glazed hot cinnamon coffee rolls from Dunkin Donuts" would probably kill me. Guess I'll stick to the shakes for breakfast for a few more days.
